Helping employees confidently master technology

With the goal of helping employees confidently master technology, at LG Electronics Hai Phong Co., Ltd., the grassroots trade union coordinated to implement a solution to "popularize" quality management methods and high-tech skills, organizing up to 1,139 courses with more than 40,590 employees participating. From there, improving the capacity of the team of technicians in system programming.

The company's trade union also launched the "Technology Autonomy" movement, encouraging employees to design and manufacture machinery themselves instead of proposing procurement from outside contractors. According to Ms. Hoang Thi Hue - Chairwoman of Thien Huong Ward Trade Union, last year, 6,399/10,666 workers were trained in vocational skills at units, accounting for 60%. 1,813/10,666 workers were sent for vocational training at vocational training institutions, accounting for 17%.

Striving for 65% of workers to be informed about information technology

Hai Phong City Labor Federation is currently managing 2,840 grassroots trade unions, with a total of more than 616,000 union members. The city's workforce is characterized by being young, mostly aged 18 to 35, dynamic, and easy to adapt to the industrial production environment. Educational level and skills are increasingly improved, especially in the mechanical engineering, electronics, and logistics industries. However, the proportion of general laborers, who have not been formally trained, is still large.

Therefore, the goal for the period 2025-2030 of the City Labor Federation is to improve the quality of vocational training, digital skills, and soft skills for workers. In which, coordinating with vocational schools, training centers, and businesses to organize "Workers 4.0" classes on digital transformation, automation, labor safety and production management. At the same time, developing the program "Learning to Change the Future", encouraging workers to learn a profession, study advanced, and learn online; bringing the criteria "Civilian Learning" into annual emulation. The City Labor Federation strives to ensure that by the end of the term 70% of workers are trained to improve their professional qualifications and skills, 75% of workers participate in life skills courses; 65% of workers are disseminated knowledge about information technology and digital technology; 50% achieve the title "Civilian Learning". In 2026 alone, at least 65% of workers at enterprises participate in learning to improve their professional qualifications and skills.

Trade union levels also continue to promote and promote the effectiveness of key movements "Good Labor, Creative Labor" - taking productivity and quality as the focus; striving to have 1,000 initiatives, 100 Creative Labor Certificates each year, 5,000 initiatives and 500 Creative Labor Certificates recognized throughout the term.

With the motto "All union members and workers have Tet, celebrate Tet", the City Labor Federation implements the Tet Sum vay - Spring of Gratitude 2026 plan at all levels of trade unions, striving for 100% of grassroots trade unions to organize appropriate programs. At the same time, the 2026 Trade Union Tet Market is organized on a larger scale in both the East and West areas of the city, with at least 5,000 free shopping vouchers (200,000 VND/voucher), worth a total of 1 billion VND dedicated to union members.
