Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Party Committee, Central organizations, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, Party Secretary, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor said that 2026 is a year of special significance, the year of the 14th National Congress of the Party, the 14th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the 14th National Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union, term 2026-2031, the 80th anniversary of the first general election to elect the National Assembly of Vietnam (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2026), the election of 16th National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term; the first year of the Socio-Economic Development Plan for the 2026-2031 period.
In order to arouse the spirit of patriotic emulation, create a vibrant competitive atmosphere, encourage and motivate union members and workers nationwide to strive, contribute, and practically celebrate the country's important events, the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor launched a patriotic emulation movement in 2026 with the theme: Union members and workers compete in Innovation - Promoting digital transformation - Improving productivity and efficiency; bringing the resolutions of the Party, the Fatherland Front and the Vietnam Trade Union into life.
Specific emulation contents are as follows:
1. Expand Ho Chi Minh's ideology on the patriotic emulation movement, arousing and spreading the will to self-reliance and self-reliance of the nation; the glorious tradition of the working class and the Vietnam Trade Union. Actively participate in giving comments on document development, disseminating and concretizing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws, the Resolution of the 14th National Congress of the Party; the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union, term 2026-2031.
2. Actively participate and effectively implement emulation movements launched by the Prime Minister, focusing on the movements "The whole country competes in innovation and digital transformation", " scope of digital learning", "Promoting the development of synchronous, modern infrastructure, practicing thrift, fighting waste", "For the poor, leaving no one behind" ... associated with the specific tasks of each industry, locality, agency, unit and enterprise. Compete to innovate, improve the quality and influence of emulation movements launched by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, creating a widespread, practical and effective emulation environment. Focus on launching and effectively implementing the "Digital Initiative" Program among union members and workers in 2026.
3. Mobilize union members and workers to strive to compete in studying, improve their professional qualifications, skills and expertise; promote initiatives, creativity, and technical improvements; innovate working processes, rationalize production; promote the application of science, technology, digital transformation; build and develop a team of "Digital Workers". Compete to register and complete works, products, tasks, targets, and tasks in each job position. Compete to mobilize union members and workers to exercise their rights and responsibilities as citizens in the election of National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels.
4. Compete to promote and improve the quality of representation and protection of the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers; proactively implement practical solutions to care for life, improve welfare, and ensure sustainable employment. Accelerate, be determined, and resolutely implement solutions to develop union members and establish grassroots unions, especially in non-state enterprises. Focus on mobilizing resources to support and care for union members and workers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2026 according to the motto "All union members and workers have Tet".
5. Union officials compete to innovate thinking, methods, and working style; closely follow the grassroots, listen to union members, promptly resolve problems arising from practice; be proactive, creative, propose good models and new ways of doing things; promote the application of information technology, build a digital ecosystem to serve union members, digital transformation in union activities; imbued with the spirit: "Workers are the subject; Effectiveness is the center; Transformation at the grassroots level is the measure; Spreading and replicating the model is the evaluation criterion" for each union cadre to truly be a reliable support for union members and workers.
The emulation movement is organized in 2 phases. Phase 1 (from January 1, 2026 to June 30, 2026) and Phase 2 (from July 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026).
To effectively implement the emulation movement in 2026, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang suggested that the Standing Committee and the Emulation Council for Rewarding Provincial and Municipal Labor Federations, Central Industry Unions, Economic Group Unions, General Corporation Unions under the General Confederation of Labor, based on the Plan of the General Confederation and practical conditions, develop plans, organize responsiveness, launch emulation movements for each group of subjects; specify the content and have a form of organizing emulation movements in accordance with reality; build criteria and practical emulation content, closely follow political tasks and key tasks at the local, industry, and unit levels, organize emulation to strive to exceed the targets and tasks set for 2026.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang called on all union cadres and union members and workers nationwide to unite, join hands, be unanimous, strive to compete with the highest determination to strive to excellently complete assigned tasks and work, contributing to building the working class and the union organization to grow stronger, bringing the country to strong development in the new era.
