On November 26, Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Chi - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of New Apparel Far Eastern Vietnam Company said that the unit had visited and encouraged the family of Ms. L.T.H (born in 1984, from Cat Tien, Lam Dong). Ms. L.T.H was a victim of a cable car accident that crossed the road and died on the evening of November 22.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Chi, representatives of the company's Board of Directors, the Executive Board of the grassroots union and the managing staff visited, expressed condolences and encouraged Ms. L.T.H's family.
The representative of the grassroots union said that Ms. L.T.H will work at the company from April 2025 as a PPA seamstress. Her house is 74 km from the company, so she rented a room near the factory to facilitate her work. On weekends, she rides a motorbike home to visit. On November 22, on her way home, Ms. H died in an accident on National Highway 14 through Nghia Trung commune, Dong Nai province.
The female worker died with 3 immature children, including 2 young grandchildren who are still studying. The family has an elderly person who needs support, Ms. H's husband only works in rice fields to take care of his elderly mother.
"With the spirit of mutual love, the Executive Board of the Trade Union has informed all officers and employees in the company and received the warm attention and sharing from our colleagues. The grassroots union and all employees and the company have donated a total of 107.5 million VND to support Ms. H's family. Hopefully, through this support, I will share some of the difficulties with Ms. H's family" - Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Chi said.
Investigation clarifies the responsibilities of relevant parties
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that on the evening of November 22, Ms. L.T.H was driving a motorbike with a license plate from Lam Dong province on National Highway 14 from Dong Xoai to Bu Dang. When the motorbike reached kilometre 25 through Nghia Trung commune, it suddenly got caught with a broken cable running across the road. The accident caused Ms. H to die at the scene.
The cause of the accident was determined to be a truck with a Dak Lak license plate traveling from Lam Dong to Ho Chi Minh City. When arriving at the above location, the truck's truck got caught in an electric cable crossing the road, breaking the cable. The cable was hanging on the road, at that time, Ms. H was caught in a fallen cable and died.
Immediately after receiving the report, Dong Nai Provincial Police units were present to examine the scene and investigate the cause and responsibilities of the parties involved in the accident.
