On January 21, the Vietnam Science and Technology Union (KHCN) said that in the period 2023-2025, the CDKHCN and affiliated trade unions have focused on effectively performing the function of caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers (DVNLD).
Activities to visit and give gifts to workers in difficult circumstances on the occasion of the Lunar New Year, Workers' Month, OSH Month; supporting the construction and repair of "Trade Union Homes", giving savings books to workers; supporting people and supporting workers affected by natural disasters and storms... are implemented practically and effectively. The total amount spent on the above activities at the industry trade union is more than 7 billion VND, at the trade union levels is more than 31.5 billion VND.
The work of caring for the Lunar New Year is deeply concerned with the programs "Tet Sum vay - Spring Connection", "Trade Union Tet Market", "Trade Union Meal". The total budget for Tet care of the entire industry reached over 20 billion VND. 100% of units fully pay salaries and Tet bonuses; the average bonus level for non-business sectors is from 5-8 million VND/person, and for state-owned enterprises is from 15-20 million VND/person.
Welfare programs for workers and employees have been improved in both quantity and quality because the Vietnam Science and Technology Trade Union and affiliated trade unions have signed cooperation agreements and linked with many partners to provide practical care to workers and employees. Typical examples include the Science and Technology Trade Union coordinating with Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Corporation to organize workers' fairs with preferential products and goods serving workers and employees; linking with Medlatec Group to implement health check-ups and medical consultation programs (free or discounted) for workers and employees. VNPT Trade Union signed cooperation agreements with Vietnam Airlines Corporation, Vinpearl Joint Stock Company so that VNPT's workers and employees are given incentives when buying air tickets, hotels...
Every year, over 95% of officials, workers, civil servants, and laborers are given periodic health check-ups; meals for union members and workers are ensured to exceed regulations; cultural, artistic, and sports activities are maintained regularly, creating a joyful atmosphere and strengthening solidarity in agencies and units.
The negotiation, dialogue and signing of collective labor agreements (CLAs) achieved many positive results with over 90% of agencies and units organizing conferences of officials, civil servants, public employees and employee conferences. The business sector has built and amended 629 CLAs, 100% of which have clauses that are more beneficial to employees. OSH work is seriously implemented; 100% of affiliated trade unions respond to the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH); businesses implement environmental monitoring, OSH training and pay hazardous allowances to employees.
