Sad because of losing job at the end of the year
Recently, the evening dress and wedding dress processing factory of Vega Fashion Company Limited in Ba Ria City announced to stop operations and dissolve due to difficulties, leading to 129 workers and laborers of this factory losing their jobs.
Ms. Tran Thi Thu Hoi (working at the factory for 3 years) said that she was quite sad because the factory stopped operating, especially at the end of the year and near Tet. According to Ms. Hoi, it is difficult to find a new job at this time, or if you find a new job, the year-end bonus and Tet bonus are almost non-existent. "I am quite regretful about losing my job at this time, but I also sympathize with the company. I plan to receive unemployment benefits first, find a temporary job for a few months, and then after Tet I will find a formal job in Ba Ria City area" - Ms. Hoi said.
Ms. Tran Thi Minh Tuyen (a worker who has been with the factory for more than 16 years) was also very sad when the factory stopped operating and dissolved. According to Ms. Tuyen, during her long time working here, she saw that the factory always ensured the regime for workers.
“My house is in Long Dien, but I work for a factory in Ba Ria. I am very sad that the factory I have been working for for 16 years is having difficulties and has to close down, but I have to accept it. I will find a temporary job to have income at the end of the year, near Tet. Then I will find a stable, suitable job after Tet” - Ms. Tuyen shared.
According to the factory representative, before stopping operations, the unit had finalized and handed over social insurance books to all employees and at the same time, provided support of 1-3.5 months' salary (depending on the number of years the employee worked) based on the social insurance salary, ranging from 4.78-11.96 million VND/person.
Promote activities to care for union members at the end of the year
Grasping the above situation, the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Federation of Labor quickly organized visits to encourage workers. Thereby, the Provincial Federation of Labor directly discussed to understand, grasp the aspirations, advise on the contents to note when workers look for new jobs, as well as ready to support union members and workers if they encounter difficulties and problems.
"The Provincial Federation of Labor quickly deployed emergency support for 129 union members, each receiving 1.5 million VND, before the enterprise completely stopped all factory operations," informed Ms. Pham Thu Huong - Vice President of the Provincial Federation of Labor.
According to the Provincial Federation of Labor, in 2024, the employment situation in the locality, especially in industrial parks, will be stable.
At the end of the year and near Lunar New Year, many activities to take care of Tet for union members and employees will be organized, as well as coordinate with functional units to inspect and supervise, requiring businesses to properly and fully implement the welfare regimes and policies committed to employees.
It is expected that the Industrial Park Trade Union will give Tet support gifts to 7,000 workers in difficult circumstances, with a total amount of 3.5 billion VND; the Provincial Labor Federation will organize the giving of 1,200 Tet support gifts to union members in difficult circumstances; along with other caring activities of the grassroots trade unions. At the same time, the trade union will also organize the programs "Tet Sum Vay", "Tet Cong Doan Market", support train and bus tickets for workers to return home for Tet.
According to the Provincial Federation of Labor, the work of caring for and accompanying businesses to support difficult circumstances in the area contributes to helping workers have conditions to welcome a warmer and more fulfilling New Year with their families; supporting workers to overcome difficulties to feel secure in working and producing.
