Only becomes a motivator when it is truly relevant to the employee
Ms. Tran Thi Thu Ha is working at Mitsubishi Pencil Vietnam Co., Ltd. - 100% Japanese capital - the company's main products include: colored pencils, black pencils, paint pens, markers, water pens, whiteboard pens...
To help the company save fuel and improve product quality, Ms. Ha and her colleagues struggled, researched and innovated. During the working process, with her experience, passion and responsibility, Ms. Ha came up with the topic "Improving and rationalizing the flow of PX-20 pen products", benefiting the company 268 million VND/year.
This innovation comes from the manufacturing process. Because the pens from the automatic assembly machine are output in the opposite direction to the labeling and nylon wrapping machines, in order to connect the machines together, it is necessary to rotate the pencils right after the assembly machine. When realizing the imbalance of gravity of the product, Ms. Ha researched and invented an automatic pen rotation system (100% efficiency), rearranging the machine positions to overcome the above shortcomings...
According to Ms. Ha, difficulties are also one of the motivations to strive. That motivation is further strengthened when there are emulation movements for technical innovation initiatives and the attention of the trade union and the Board of Directors. Initiatives, big or small, are promptly rewarded, creating great motivation for creativity.
At FECON Joint Stock Company, every year the Union coordinates with the Technical and Research and Development Department to launch the "Innovation Initiative" movement throughout the system based on the support and direct guidance of the Company's Board of Directors. The important thing is that all initiatives of staff and workers are recognized by the company.
Over the past 15 years, the company has had over 200 award-winning initiatives, of which over 150 initiatives have been applied in practice in projects, factories and company offices, generating hundreds of billions of VND in profits. The company has awarded initiatives a total of over 2 billion VND, with annual special awards of up to 50 million VND…
Sharing of union members and employees participating in emulation movements, including creative initiatives launched by trade unions, all have one thing in common: they participate because the emulation criteria are suitable, and they are given all conditions to promote their intelligence and increase their income from those initiatives and creativity.
It is truly a movement of workers, especially direct workers.
In 2024, from 801 initiatives and scientific topics selected and proposed by the grassroots trade union, the Hanoi City Labor Federation Emulation Council selected and recognized 100 "Initiatives and Creativity among Capital Workers" in 2024.
Many inventions, initiatives, technical solutions, production rationalization, improvements, applications of scientific and technical advances, equipment and technological methods innovation of employees have been implemented, helping enterprises and units overcome difficulties, maintain production and business, promote labor productivity, enhance competitiveness, and at the same time contribute significantly to improving working environment conditions, limiting labor accidents and occupational diseases, promoting production development, and improving workers' lives.
The important factor here is that the trade union organization shifts the focus of emulation and rewards to the grassroots level, encouraging and rewarding managers, scientists and especially direct workers who have initiatives and creativity in production and business.
To do this, the content and criteria of the movement are specified in accordance with the characteristics of each region to attract and engage a large number of union members and employees to participate, achieving practical results. For example, in the administrative sector, the emulation movement focuses on promoting administrative procedure reform, improving the effectiveness of state management and the quality of service to the people through promoting the application of the "one-stop" and "one-stop-shop" mechanisms, applying information technology in handling administrative records and procedures, etc.
