The 8th Congress, term 2025 - 2030, of the Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC) Trade Union was held on the afternoon of November 24.
The report at the congress said that in the period of 2023 - 2025, EVNHCMC Trade Union has coordinated with the professional sector to launch many emulation movements to contribute to ensuring stable, continuous and safe power supply, contributing positively to the recovery and development of Ho Chi Minh City's economy such as: Meeting the extreme electricity demand of Ho Chi Minh City to 5,212MW in 2024, equivalent to an average increase of 3.74%/year; completing 2 to 3 years ahead of the roadmap assigned by Vietnam Electricity Group with the main technical targets of the 5-year plan for the period 2021 - 2025.
EVNHCMC Trade Union has negotiated and signed a Collective Labor Agreement with the Company's Board of Directors consisting of 8 chapters and 31 articles, of which 27 points are more beneficial to employees than those prescribed by law. The union also coordinated with the professional team to organize tours and vacations for nearly 19,300 employees with an amount of more than 7.7 billion VND; supported the construction of 5 charity houses and repaired houses, prevented flooding of 35 workers' houses with a total amount of nearly 1.5 billion VND...
In the period of 2023 - 2025, EVNHCMC Trade Union was assessed by Vietnam Electricity Trade Union as having excellently completed its tasks, and was awarded the Comprehensive Emulation Flag by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in 2023 and 2024.
The Congress also set out a number of key tasks for the 2025 - 2030 term such as: 100% of Trade Union officials at all levels are trained and trained in trade union skills; 100% of grassroots Trade Union Chairmen have university degrees and intermediate level of political theory or higher; 100% of newly recruited workers are eligible to be admitted to the trade union; Mobilizing 100% of employees to register and commit to studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style in conjunction with the set of criteria "Professional workers in the city's electricity industry named after Uncle Ho"; Introduce 300 outstanding union members admitted to the Party;
At the same time, coordinate with the professional organization to install emulation signs for at least 10 typical works; Every year, 100% of grassroots trade unions launch emulation movements to excellently complete the tasks, plans, and production and business targets of the Corporation and the unit; Strengthen inspection of occupational safety and hygiene, fire prevention, ensure safety for people and property, and prevent occupational accidents; 100% of employees are trained and retrained, with training hours reaching at least 40 hours/work/year.
At the congress, delegates also contributed to support people in the central and Central Highlands provinces affected by recent floods.
