The workshop was organized by the Women's Committee for the advancement of the banking industry in coordination with the Vietnam Banking Trade Union and Standard Chartered Bank.
Attending were Mr. Dao Minh Tu - Permanent Deputy Governor of the State Bank, Head of the Committee for the advancement of Women in the banking industry, Chairman of the Vietnam Banking Trade Union; Ms. Rene'e Deschamps, Interim Advocate, Australian Embassy in Vietnam; Ms. Sarah Twigg - Manager of the Asia Pacific region, Ethnic and Inclusive Economic Development, International Finance Corporation (IFC); Mr. Ankur Kanwar - Global Director of structural Solutions, Standard Chartered Bank Group... along with 400 delegates.
The Organizing Committee of the Workshop invited prestigious and experienced speakers so that female bank officers can grasp both domestic and international digital transformation trends in the banking sector and listen to share experiences, solutions and initiatives to further increase the participation of women in banking in the digital transformation process.
With the efforts of the entire industry, digital transformation at the State Bank and the system of credit institutions has achieved many impressive results such as the public services of the State Bank qualified to be upgraded to the full process; the public services of the entire process are integrated. For credit institutions, payment intermediaries have applied advanced digital technologies to optimize and simplify business processes, improve operational efficiency and customer transaction experience; at the same time, evaluate, classify customers, decide on disbursement and integrate with many different partner ecosystems in many fields; some basic services have been completely implemented on digital channels; many banks have achieved a rate of over 90% of transactions conducted on digital channels.
It can be said that the initial successes in the story of digital transformation as well as in the story of gender equality of the banking industry are a great encouragement for the entire industry to continue to promote digital transformation associated with gender issues.
However, it is both a pressure and a motivation for the entire industry to act and create more remarkable and successful development steps in this process. The workshop raised the most general, comprehensive issue on digital transformation and the participation of banking women.
In the coming time, the banking industry will continue to take more specific and stronger actions to both keep up with the rapid development of the digital transformation process and create conditions for female workers to quickly adapt, taking advantage of this opportunity to integrate and develop...
Speaking at the Banking Women's Forum Steadfastly in the digital transformation process, Mr. Dao Minh Tu - Permanent Deputy Governor of the State Bank, Head of the Committee for the advancement of women in the banking industry, Chairman of the Vietnam Banking Trade Union emphasized that the banking industry always pays great attention to women. Organizing a workshop on Women's Banking integration along with the digital transformation process with practical content clearly demonstrated the concern of the banking industry leaders for women. Thereby, helping women have a comprehensive view at the national and international levels of digital transformation, gender equality and the participation of women in banking in the digital transformation process. In the Banking industry, women account for 58% with a high percentage of doctoral and master's degrees. They are fully qualified to adapt strongly to digital transformation.
