Tran boards every day when coming to the factory
For workers working in Hoa Phu Industrial Park, passing through a road about 1.4km from Long Ho town to Loc Hoa bridge is now no different from a "road of hardship".
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Loi in Mang Thit district, a worker in the industrial park, shared: "Every morning when I go to work and afternoon after work is a total picture. Dust flies everywhere, vehicles jostle each other little by little. Many days are late for work due to traffic jams. If you want to go by another road, it will be 1.5 times, double the distance, taking more time and fuel.
Sharing the same frustration, Ms. Vo Thi Huyen Trang in Long Ho, also a worker at Hoa Phu Industrial Park, lamented: "C business clothes are always covered in dust. Sometimes I get bored and don't want to go to work anymore. I just hope the road will be completed soon so that we can suffer less".
According to Ms. Trang, congestion often occurs on this road section, especially at unfinished construction sections and drainage sites that are being built in an unsynchronized manner, posing a potential risk of traffic accidents.
Not only workers, but also people living along this road are suffering negative impacts from prolonged construction.
Mr. Le Thanh Tung, a business tenant in this area, could not hide his disappointment and said that he had previously rented out his premises for 1.5 million VND/month, now it has to be reduced to 1 million VND and it is difficult to find tenants. "Customers see a lot of dust and traffic jams, so no one wants to stop by to buy or sell anything. I have to beg the tenants to stay and hold back, because if the situation continues, I will probably go bankrupt, Mr. Tung added.
Mr. Tung and many households as well as workers hope that authorities at all levels and construction units will promptly complete the road to return normal life to the people and create favorable conditions for workers to travel.
Due to lack of stone supply
Speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phuc - Deputy Head of the Department of Infrastructure and Urban Economics of Long Ho district (Investor of the project) - said that the project to upgrade and expand DH.22 (Bao Kien) route, section 4 (from bordering Provincial Road 909 to Loc Hoa Bridge), with a total length of 1,409m, with a construction cost of more than 7.6 billion VND, will start in October 2024.
According to the contract with the construction unit, Cuong Phat Company Limited, the project will be completed on April 15, 2025. However, up to now, the project is still under construction.
Explaining this delay, Mr. Phuc said that the construction unit reported that the main reason was the shortage of stone supply from construction materials stores. Investors have gone to construction materials stores to confirm that the lack of stone supply is correct.
In order to solve difficulties and create the most favorable conditions for the early construction unit to have the necessary materials, the Department of Infrastructure and Urban Economic Department of Long Ho District has actively contacted construction materials trading enterprises in Vinh Long province, actively seek stable stone supply for the project. The goal is to ensure the construction unit can quickly deploy the remaining items and soon complete the route.
"At present, the construction unit has issued a written request to extend the progress, the investor has submitted to the District People's Committee for consideration to approve the extension until May 15, 2025, with the commitment of the work will be completed and officially put into use.
