This is a badminton and pickleball tournament for employees organized by the Labor Federation of Dien Bien province in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province.
The tournament has the participation of 52 delegations from districts, towns, cities, departments, branches and sectors; with nearly 500 athletes competing in 27 events; representing more than 33,000 union members, employees and armed forces across the province.
In badminton, athletes compete in 13 events according to age groups: leadership doubles; men's doubles, mixed-women's doubles; mixed-women's doubles.
In Pickleball, the athletes compete in 17 contents by age groups: Men's couple, female leaders; Men's doubles, women's doubles, men and women in full -time union cadres; men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, men and women coordinate with employees.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Lau Thi Thanh Huong - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Labor Federation of Dien Bien province emphasized that the tournament took place in the atmosphere of the whole Party, the whole army and the entire people rejoice in the emulation to make achievements to celebrate the major holidays and the great political events of the country, the province and the trade union organization.
The tournament is also a practical activity in response to activities during Workers' Month in 2025.
The participation of the delegations affirms the sports movement of union members, employees, and armed forces in the province is increasingly developing widely, said Ms. Lau Thi Thanh Huong.
The 2025 Dien Bien Province Workers' and Employees' Badminton and Pickleball Tournament will be held for 5 days; the tournament will close and award on May 25.
