The 2023-2025 term has closed with many important milestones, showing the increasingly clear role of the trade union levels of Ninh Binh province in accompanying, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers (NLĐ).

Impression of caring for and protecting the rights of union members and workers

One of the outstanding results of the past term is that the work of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers continues to be implemented, going into substance. Trade union levels in Ninh Binh province have focused on participating in management, strengthening dialogue, negotiation, and signing collective labor agreements at enterprises. The rate of grassroots trade unions signing advanced labor agreements reached 82%, showing positive changes in building harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations.

Not only stopping at the role of representative, Ninh Binh Trade Union also clearly affirms its function of caring for the material and spiritual life of union members and workers. In the period 2023 - 2025, trade union levels in Ninh Binh province have organized visits and presented more than 320,000 gifts, with a total value of over 225 billion VND to union members and workers in difficult circumstances through practical programs such as "Tet Sum vay", "Trade Union Tet Market", "Workers' Month", "Union Member Welfare", "Trade Union Meal", "Trade Union Warm House"...

Especially, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year every year, about 180 businesses are visited by central leaders, provincial leaders and Trade Union levels to visit and give gifts to workers. Ninh Binh province has organized 361 "Tet reunion" programs with many meaningful activities such as giving gifts, free shopping vouchers, organizing preferential booths, free consultations, health check-ups, bus ticket support and organizing "zero-dollar" bus trips to take workers from afar to their hometowns for Tet. These activities not only support workers materially but also create a humane spread, helping union members feel more clearly the accompanying role of the Trade Union organization.

Mr. Nguyen Hai Long - Chairman of Ninh Binh Provincial Labor Federation said that in the past term, the union member welfare program continued to be promoted, meeting the increasingly diverse needs of workers. During the term, 48 cooperation agreements were signed, more than 116,000 union members and workers benefited from welfare programs with a total amount of 8.825 billion VND. Along with that, improving the quality of lunch meals for workers was concerned. Over 70% of businesses have organized lunch meals and supported lunch meal costs; 458 grassroots trade unions proactively proposed and negotiated with employers to adjust lunch meals for workers.

Social security work continues to be a noteworthy highlight. Trade union levels have mobilized resources to build and repair more than 100 "Trade Union Shelters", with a total value of more than 2.9 billion VND. Loan support and job creation activities from the National Fund for Employment have been implemented with a total capital of over 3.7 billion VND, supporting 36 projects, helping dozens of households to borrow capital. These shelters, capital sources and timely support have contributed to helping many union members and workers overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.

In addition to caring for life, union member development and establishment of grassroots trade unions are also being drastically implemented. In the period 2023 - 2025, Ninh Binh Provincial Labor Federation has established over 220 grassroots trade unions, admitting nearly 60,000 union members. This is an important result, showing the attractiveness of the Trade Union organization, and creating a foundation to expand the scope of representation, care, and protection of workers in the new situation.

Patriotic emulation movements among workers, civil servants, and laborers continue to be innovated, focusing on practical effectiveness. The movement "Good labor, Creative labor", promoting initiatives, technical improvements, and production rationalization has been widely deployed. During the term, the whole province has over 20,000 initiatives for technical improvements and production rationalization applied to production and work; nearly 200 authors were awarded Creative Labor Certificates. These figures show that the intelligence and creative capacity of workers have been awakened, directly contributing to the development of agencies, units, and businesses.

Expectations for innovation, digital transformation and building strong trade unions

According to Chairman of Ninh Binh Provincial Labor Federation Nguyen Hai Long, one of the breakthrough expectations for the next term is digital transformation in Trade Union activities. Building digital trade unions, digitizing union member and trade union finance data, and strengthening the application of technology in direction, administration and organization of activities will help the Trade Union system operate more unifiedly, smoothly, effectively and efficiently.

In the context of the digital age strongly impacting all fields, digital transformation is no longer an option but a mandatory requirement for Trade Unions to adapt and serve union members better. Along with digital transformation, the task of building a team of streamlined, strong, courageous, dedicated, daring to think, daring to do, daring to take responsibility and daring to innovate and create trade union officials is urgent. Trade union officials must be truly close to employees, understand the grassroots, quickly grasp the thoughts and aspirations of union members, and at the same time have negotiation and dialogue skills to handle issues arising in labor relations" - Mr. Long shared.

Chairman of Ninh Binh Provincial Labor Federation Nguyen Hai Long also shared that in the next term, when Ninh Binh continues to attract many domestic and foreign investors, the workforce will increase rapidly, requiring the Trade Union organization to expand coverage, improve the quality of operations, and ensure that where workers are, the Trade Union is there.

From the foundation of the achievements of the past term, Ninh Binh Trade Union enters the 2025 - 2030 term with many new expectations. That is the expectation of a more modern Trade Union organization, closer to grassroots levels, more substantively caring and capable of accompanying workers in the new context. When workers continue to be placed in the center, Ninh Binh Trade Union will continue to be a reliable fulcrum, contributing to building a modern working class, harmonious labor relations and making positive contributions to the sustainable development of the locality.
