An energetic young engineer
When asked about Mr. Trinh Dang Tho (born in 1985, engineer at Organic Sugar Factory, Lam Son Sugar Joint Stock Company), most of the youth union members, union members, and workers in the company knew him well and gave him compliments.
In 2008, after graduating from Hanoi Agricultural University 1 (now Vietnam Academy of Agriculture), Mr. Tho worked at Lam Son Sugar Plyma Joint Stock Company. In the first days of his work, he learned from practice and took the time to study more documents and improve his knowledge to improve his professional skills.
With a spirit of improvement, support from colleagues and leaders, he gradually matured and completed all assigned tasks well. Responding to the emulation movements launched by the Trade Union, he actively creates, proposes many technical initiatives, contributes to improving productivity, product quality and benefits businesses.
I always keep in mind that, as a young person, I have to do everything I can, pursue until the end until I get a result (even if the result is not good). Only then can I understand how much I am capable of, where I am lacking to overcome, learn from experience and improve" - Mr. Tho shared.
Continuously researching and creating
According to Mr. Tho, during his work, he has conducted many research and proposed initiatives to benefit the company, while reducing the labor force of workers. One of Mr. Tho's important and highly beneficial initiatives is the initiative "Improving and upgrading the space-creating system for cooking rock sugar".
Mr. Tho said that the initiative comes from the actual production at the Organic Sugar Factory, where the yield during the hot season is only at a maximum of 28 tons/day due to low cooling efficiency. The water source has been treated but not optimized, leading to a large amount of hot water containing high COD content released into the environment, which is both wasteful and polluted.
The factory then used two old excavators in the form of forced water spraying combined with a cooling fan, but did not meet the requirements. The water temperature after cooling can sometimes reach 55 - 60 degrees Celsius, requiring continuous water supplementation, significantly reducing the amount of space to serve the sugar cooking process.
Faced with the above situation, Mr. Tho proposed to renovate the system, moving from two single condenses to one condenses with better air creating capability, while saving water. He also replaced the two old cooling towers with a newly designed water divider in the form of a suction fan, helping the water after condenses drop below 350C.
He also rearranged the pumping system to reduce electricity consumption, renovate pipes to make the most of circulating water and stop discharging hot water into the environment. This solution helps increase the yield of alum sugar from 30.5 to 36 tons/day, increase the factory output from 6,000 to 9,000 tons/year, bringing benefits of about 2 billion VND/year to businesses.
According to the representative of Lam Son Sugar Joint Stock Company, over the years, Mr. Trinh Dang Tho has been one of the typical examples of youth union members, union members who dare to think, dare to do, constantly create and have made many contributions to benefit the company. He is also a person who is not afraid of difficulties or hardships, ready to help, conveying his valuable experiences to the young union members later, creating a solid support and a model for the younger generation of the company to learn and follow.
It is known that, also with his tireless research efforts over the years, Mr. Trinh Dang Tho was honored to be awarded the Creative Labor Certificate by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Certificate of Merit by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations; Certificate of Merit by the Thanh Hoa Labor Federation and many Certificates of Merit at all levels.
