The successful 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress opened up many expectations for union members, workers (NLĐ) and trade union officials nationwide.
According to Ms. Le Thi Huong - Chairwoman of the Grassroots Trade Union (CĐCS) of Ky Nghe Cua Y A Chau Co., Ltd. (Tan Hiep ward, Ho Chi Minh City), the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress (term 2026 - 2031) is of particular importance in establishing vision and strategy for the Trade Union organization.
Ms. Le Thi Huong expressed her expectation that the Vietnam Trade Union will continue to build welfare programs to actively support the material life of workers in industrially developed provinces and cities. Build more Trade Union facilities in areas with a large number of workers.

The Tan Hiep ward area, Ho Chi Minh City, concentrates a large number of workers. However, social housing and cheap housing for workers are still lacking. Cultural institutions, parks, and schools serving workers are still few. I hope that after the congress, the policies of the Vietnam Trade Union will be widely implemented. Ms. Pham Thi Tuyet Nhung - Chairwoman of the grassroots trade union of Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Di An ward, Ho Chi Minh City) also expects that the Vietnam Trade Union will continue to propose and propose to the Party and State to adjust or supplement some of the following contents: a salary level to ensure that workers live on, not the minimum wage as at present; early implementation of social housing policies for workers; supporting workers with medical examination and treatment costs, especially in cases of workers suffering from serious illnesses; building vocational training facilities in industrial zones and clusters; including working hours in the Labor Code (working 44 hours/week) so that workers have time for their families and rest to regenerate labor.

As a grassroots trade union official in the industrially developed city of Dong Nai, Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Chi - Chairwoman of the grassroots trade union of New Apparel Far Eastern Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Dong Phu ward) also expressed her desire for the Party, State and Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to continue to research and improve the theoretical basis and roadmap for implementing living wages to gradually meet the basic living needs of workers and families.
I hope the State and Trade Union will continue to pay attention to investing in perfecting welfare policies for workers. Pay special attention to building social housing, kindergartens, schools and cultural institutions serving workers and laborers.
