Da Nang workers eagerly await "Connecting Run 2024"

Workers in Da Nang are eagerly waiting for the "Connecting Steps 2024" running race to take place.

“Connecting Run 2024” is a free running race, exclusively for workers, taking place for the first time in Da Nang on October 6.

The race was jointly organized by the Management Board of Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Parks, the Da Nang City Labor Federation, and Lao Dong Newspaper, as part of the "Connecting Businesses 2024" event series to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs Day (October 13).

“Connecting Steps 2024” took place at the Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Parks with the participation of 600 athletes who are civil servants and workers in Da Nang in the distances: 5km and 10km, along the mountainside, through the lake in the dreamy Hoa Trung valley. The race brought 32 attractive prizes.

What was quite surprising to the Organizing Committee was that as soon as they received information about the race registration, many city employees and workers eagerly registered to participate.

Ms. Le Dong, a worker at the Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Zones Trade Union, shared: “As soon as the announcement of the free race for workers was made, we immediately joined. Everyone was eager to see the race track and the shirts. Many workers even spent time training to participate in the race in the hope of achieving the best possible results.”

For nearly 10 days now, Ms. Dong has been asking the Organizing Committee about the registration process and the competition rules. Ms. Dong also said that every time she comes to work at the factory, everyone discusses the race together. Where to run? What time? What do we need to prepare?... making the working atmosphere these days bustling.

In particular, many workers like Ms. Nguyen - a member of the Dong A University Union, after a period of hesitation because she felt her physical strength was weak, decided to set an alarm to exercise every day after registering to participate in the race.

“This is the first running competition organized for union members and workers in Da Nang, so I definitely had to participate even though I don’t think my physical strength is as good as others. Now I am eagerly waiting for Sunday to run,” Ms. Nguyen shared.

Ms. Dinh Thi Thanh Ha, Vice President of the Da Nang City Labor Federation - member of the Organizing Committee said: The "Connecting Steps 2024" race is not only a new playground to promote the spirit of sports training, improve health but also creates joy and excitement to maintain harmonious labor relations in enterprises, but also contributes to creating diversity of sports activities for employees, civil servants and workers in the city.
