At the end of the year, many businesses have stabilized their workforce to complete orders as planned. A few businesses recruit to compensate for workers who have quit or to meet orders for Tet.

Recruitment will increase from early 2025

Mr. Nguyen Van Chi - Chairman of the Trade Union of Crystal Martin Company (Bac Giang) - said that each month the company only recruits about 40-50 workers. According to Mr. Chi, the reason the company recruits few workers at the end of the year is because the orders have stabilized; the labor force is enough to meet the production needs of the business.

Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, Mr. Ngo Duc Thang - Chairman of the Trade Union of Industrial Parks in Bac Giang province - said that at this time, companies in the province's industrial parks are hardly recruiting, only a few companies are recruiting to compensate for the loss of labor, but the number is insignificant.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh (30 years old) - an employee in charge of recruiting human resources for a garment company in Nam Dinh said that by the end of November, his company must recruit 200 more workers to produce goods before the Lunar New Year 2025.

“Up to now, we have recruited almost enough staff. Since September 2024, the company has signed long-term orders with 2 new customer partners. Therefore, the company's leaders decided to establish a new branch and recruit more workers, the order is expected to last until mid-2025,” said Mr. Thanh.

Mr. Nguyen Van Nam - Head of Human Resources of a garment company in Nam Dinh said: "Currently, the company has only recruited 110 workers, so the old workers have to work overtime 3-4 hours/day, we hire more workers to work on weekends to be able to meet orders before Tet."

Focus on understanding labor needs

Mr. Nguyen Trung Thanh (Van Lam district, Hung Yen) after more than 6 years working as a mechanic in Hanoi, recently intended to find a job near home to take care of his family.

“After researching on the website of the Hung Yen Provincial Employment Service Center, I chose a company located in Trung Trac Commune, Van Lam District, Hung Yen Province - near my home - to apply for a job as a CNC machine technician (computer-controlled for mechanical processing). With a salary of 7-10 million VND, and working near home, it is also a good choice, suitable for my family's current situation,” Thanh shared.

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Trinh Trung Kien - Chairman of the Labor Federation of Van Lam district, Hung Yen province said that currently in Hung Yen province, 10/17 industrial parks have come into operation and received nearly 600 domestic and foreign investment projects. The projects put into production and business create jobs for about 81,500 workers and in Van Lam district, there are also clusters and industrial parks with many operating enterprises...

In the first 9 months of 2024, Hung Yen province created jobs for nearly 22,000 people. Of these, 3,011 people went to work abroad under contracts, mainly in countries such as Japan, Korea, Malaysia, etc.

According to the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Hung Yen province, from the beginning of 2024 to now, businesses have a need to recruit over 34,000 workers; it is expected that in 2025, there will be a need to recruit over 39,000 workers...

Report on the implementation of the 2024 socio-economic development plan and the 2025 socio-economic development plan of the Government, since the beginning of the year, the labor and employment situation has changed positively. The quality of human resources has been improved (the rate of trained workers with degrees and certificates in 2024 is estimated at 28.1%, an increase of 1.3%). In the first 9 months, the labor force aged 15 and over was 52.5 million, an increase of 210,600 people over the same period; the number of employed workers was 51.4 million, an increase of 212,000 people; the unemployment rate in urban areas was 2.38%, a decrease of 0.17% over the same period. The average income of workers reached about 7.6 million VND, an increase of 7.4%. By 2025, the Government aims to have the proportion of trained workers reach about 70%, of which those with degrees and certificates will reach about 29 - 29.5%; the unemployment rate in urban areas will be below 4%.
