The heart of the person who "keeps the fire" of the trade union
In a small room with the words " Breast milk collection and storage room" of Panko Tam Thang One Member Co., Ltd., Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa (sewing group 3) said: "Previously, when I went to work after giving birth without a place to express milk, many women had to hide in the restroom. Now that there is a clean, standard milk pressing and storage room, and it is close to the factory, I am very assured.
Few people know that Ms. Huynh Thi Du - Head of Human Resources Department, Vice President of the grassroots Trade Union - is the one who proposed the model of preventing - storing milk and persistently promoting it to become a sustainable policy of the enterprise.
Having been with Panko Tam Thang for nearly 10 years - a Korean FDI garment enterprise with a scale of nearly 7,000 employees, Ms. Du has always been a trusted bridge between employees and the board of directors: Grasping the worker's thoughts, organizing periodic dialogues, advising on solutions close to reality.
Ms. Le Thi Hanh (from Nghe An) joined Panko Tam Thang to work for the 6th year. When mentioning Tet, her eyes lit up: "Not every year I can go home on time. During my stay, the Union went to the boarding house to give Tet gifts, sometimes adding charity bus tickets to the disadvantaged."
Behind that series of activities are the busy "Tet" days of Ms. Du and the union staff: Surveying the list of union members in difficulty, negotiating welfare with businesses, connecting social resources, then personally bringing gifts to the boarding house, sitting down to chat with each family.
Not stopping there, from 2021 to present, together with the grassroots Trade Union, Ms. Du has maintained a women's union activity under the theme: Gender equality, reproductive health, prevention and control of domestic violence.
Good at public affairs, good at housework
For many years, Ms. Du has been a face that has won many awards from the union and local organizations; has a recognized initiative "Improving legal knowledge for workers" and from 2025, she will directly teach periodic occupational safety and hygiene, machine operation skills to new workers.
Ms. Du shared that the trade union is not only a place to "protect when there are problems", but also a "companion" in the development of businesses. Therefore, she focuses on small things that are effective and sustainable: the process of receiving and answering social insurance problems right from the first day of receiving the job; labor law information board posted in each workshop; union hotline; F0 - F1 support group for the epidemic period and especially to encourage learning for workers' children.
Mr. Ryu Kyung Hun - General Director of Panko Tam Thang LLC - commented: "Ms. Du is an exemplary human resource: Listening, receptive and creative. Many of her proposals have clearly improved the working environment, increasing the involvement of workers. Panko is proud to have union officials like her.
After leaving the factory to return to a small house, Ms. Du continued to take on most of the care of her two children (one in grade 2, one in kindergarten), when her husband moved to work 70km away from home. Thanks to her discipline and sharing spirit, her family is always warm and harmonious; her children are well-educated and well-educated. She has been awarded the title of excellent union member for many consecutive years, "Good at public affairs - Good at home affairs".
Ms. Huynh Thi Du is one of 60 outstanding individuals in the "Good at public work - Good at home work" movement honored by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh - Vice President of the Da Nang City Labor Federation - commented: "Ms. Huynh Thi Du is a typical example of the movement "Good at public work - Good at home work". She also spreads the image of dynamic, dedicated, and humane female union officials; especially in the context of large-scale FDI enterprises, caring for the lives of nearly 7,000 workers is a persistent effort.
