Not only a dedicated union official, Ms. Pham Thi Dieu Minh - Head of the Women's Union of the Quang Binh Radio and Television Station is also an inspiration for large-scale charity activities, contributing to changing the awareness of the role of women in social work.
Imprints from the "Zero-dong market"
One of the programs that creates a buzz and has the strongest influence initiated by Ms. Minh and the Women's Union is "Zero-dong Market", held annually in mountainous and border villages.
After 5 years of implementation, the program has mobilized nearly 3 billion VND in cash and goods, supporting thousands of households in difficult circumstances, especially women and children in Truong Son (Quang Ninh district), Lam Thuy (Le Thuy district), Thuong Trach (Bo Trach district), Lam Hoa (Tuyen Hoa district) and Thuong Hoa (Minh Hoa district).
"Zero-dong market" is not only a place to provide necessities for people in disadvantaged areas, but also brings joy and sharing in the days before Tet.
Sharing about the program, Ms. Minh said that this is a large-scale program, requiring careful preparation from many stages. With the participation of hundreds of companions and dozens of booths fully distributed with items for daily life, especially goods for Lunar New Year, we must ensure the program is effective and organized.
"In addition to calling for sponsorship, the women in the board have spent a lot of time designing each booth, from naming names, placing Slogans, decorating, to preparing thank you letters to send to philanthropists to express gratitude, creating long-term connections" - Ms. Minh said.
In particular, the program also includes activities to promote environmental protection awareness, such as encouraging people to use squid instead of plastic bags, along with performances by singers from inside and outside the province, helping to improve the spiritual life of the people.
"Despite the busy work schedule at the end of the year, the women still arrange their tasks, traveling hundreds of kilometers of mountain passes down to the village. When witnessing the joy of the people, we realized that women can do everything, even miracles, when they have the opportunity to express themselves and when we love the meaningful work they are doing" - Ms. Minh shared.
With its strong spread, the program has been voted as one of the 20 outstanding good deeds of women in the whole province in 2023.

Not only stopping at volunteer work, Ms. Minh also promotes emulation movements among female union members, civil servants, and workers. Activities such as "Good at public affairs, good at housework", associated with the "Building Quang Binh women in the new era" movement, have helped many women affirm their roles, both completing professional work well and actively participating in community activities.
Ms. Minh herself and many colleagues have won many high awards at national press awards, contributing to enhancing the position of women in the media field.
She also called for the establishment of a Women's Charity Fund. In 3 years, the fund has saved more than 40 million VND, helping poor students in remote areas and supporting female workers in difficult circumstances.
With her continuous contributions, Ms. Minh herself was honored as the 3rd Outstanding Trade Union Female Official in 2024 by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Not only an exemplary union official, Ms. Minh is also a symbol of dedication, responsibility, arousing and promoting the role of women in social work, contributing to creating good values in the community.
