Limit unnecessary labor disputes
Recently, Lao Dong Newspaper, the Vietnam Bar Federation and the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation have completed signing a cooperation agreement to organize the 2026 Legal Consulting Program for workers. Accordingly, the 3 parties will coordinate to provide legal advice to about 3,000 workers, expected to take place at the closing ceremony of Workers' Month 2026 of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor held in Ho Chi Minh City in June 2026.
In the context of increasingly diverse and complex labor relations, many legal regulations directly related to the rights and obligations of workers are regularly updated and supplemented, improving legal understanding for workers becomes an urgent requirement. Especially in Ho Chi Minh City, the major economic center of the country with millions of workers working in export processing zones and industrial parks, the need for legal advice, answering questions about labor law, social insurance, occupational safety and health, labor disputes... is very large.
Lawyer Nguyen Van Hau - Member of the Bar Association advises workers in a legal advice program organized by Lao Dong Newspaper. Also according to lawyer Hau, the coordination between Lao Dong Newspaper, the Vietnam Bar Federation and the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation shows the joint efforts of socio-political organizations, socio-professional organizations in propaganda and legal education for workers. This is not just a simple propaganda activity but also has the meaning of accompanying and supporting workers in the process of working, working and living in large cities like Ho Chi Minh City. The Standing Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Bar Federation's Communication Agency, who has participated many times in the legal advice program organized by Lao Dong Newspaper - said that propaganda and dissemination of laws to workers is one of the important tasks of the current legal team. There will be about 30 experienced lawyers from the Vietnam Bar Federation advising workers through legal situations integrated in the comedy commed by students of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law and performed at the program and direct consulting tables.
According to Lawyer Nguyen Van Hau, actual records at enterprises show that many workers are still limited in accessing legal information. Some cases do not fully understand their rights and obligations, so they are easily infringed upon their rights or have acts of violating labor regulations and legal regulations due to lack of understanding.
This program aims to enhance legal understanding for workers. When workers understand the law, they will comply with the company's labor regulations, laws, behave appropriately and know how to use legal tools to protect their legitimate rights, thereby limiting unnecessary labor disputes" - Lawyer Nguyen Van Hau emphasized.
Contributing to building harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations
Mr. Vo Khac Thai - Standing Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation - said that trade union levels in Ho Chi Minh City always pay attention to propaganda and dissemination of laws to union members and workers through many diverse forms such as organizing dialogues, legal advice, law-finding contests, online propaganda, distributing propaganda materials at enterprises... The Legal Consulting Center of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation has annually consulted thousands of direct and online sessions for union members and workers, helping to protect the rights of workers.
However, in the face of increasingly high practical requirements, coordinating with a team of lawyers to organize large-scale legal advice programs will help improve the quality of legal propaganda, while creating conditions for workers to directly access experienced legal experts.
According to Mr. Thai, in the context of many businesses developing production, raising workers' awareness of law compliance plays a particularly important role. When workers understand the law, understand their rights and obligations, they will limit violations of labor regulations and know how to protect their own rights.
The free legal advice program for workers organized by Lao Dong Newspaper in coordination with the Vietnam Bar Federation and the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation will be very useful, helping workers better understand the law to comply with the law and labor regulations of enterprises, thereby contributing to building harmonious, stable, progressive labor relations and making an important contribution to the good and effective implementation of Directive No. 58-CT/TW dated January 10, 2026 of the Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership over propaganda, political, ideological, and legal education for workers in the new situation. The coordination between the Trade Union organization and the legal community is expected to create a more effective network of legal support for workers, especially in the context of the digital economy, new job models and new forms of labor disputes that are increasingly appearing" - Mr. Vo Khac Thai shared.
According to the plan, it is expected that in the program, lawyers will directly advise and answer issues that workers are concerned about related to regulations on labor contracts, wages, working hours, social insurance regimes, unemployment insurance, health insurance, occupational safety and health and other legal regulations related to the daily life of workers. Lao Dong Newspaper will present 100 gifts (worth 1 million VND/gift) to workers in difficult circumstances. In addition, workers will also receive free gifts mobilized by Lao Dong Newspaper.
