On the morning of January 21, the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor (FFL) announced that Ms. Lu Thi Kim Thuy - Vice President of the Provincial Federation of Labor - had just led a working delegation to directly visit and present Tet gifts to children of union members and workers with typical serious illnesses.
The delegation visited and supported Le Quang Duy (born in 2013), son of union member Le Thien Chi, of the Grassroots Trade Union of An Giang Agricultural and Foodstuff Import-Export Joint Stock Company.
This is the 5th consecutive year the Provincial Federation of Labor has visited Duy. Duy has cancer (K), is being treated at Can Tho Oncology Hospital, and his family's circumstances are very difficult as all family expenses depend on the income of his father and mother as workers.
Here, on behalf of the leaders of the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor, Ms. Lu Thi Kim Thuy encouraged Duy's family to overcome difficulties, work hard to stabilize their lives and take care of their children.
On this occasion, the delegation also directly came to provide support to Nguyen Ngoc Tuyet (born in 2007) and Nguyen Loc Tram (born in 2012), both suffering from hereditary hemolytic disease.
Tuyet and Tram are the children of union member Nguyen Thanh Phuong (of the An Giang Electricity and Water Joint Stock Company's Union). These are 3 of 97 cases of children of union members, workers, and laborers with serious illnesses who were visited and given gifts by the Labor Federation on the occasion of the Lunar New Year.
At each destination, in addition to encouragement, the delegation also gave gifts (1 million VND/gift). For the remaining cases, the Trade Union will visit and wish the children a Happy New Year and will organize a direct delivery to the children.
