With the goal of building a strong Trade Union organization, standing side by side with workers, in the first 6 months of 2025, Vinh Long Provincial Trade Unions at all levels developed 14,435 new union members, established 23 new grassroots trade unions, reaching more than 53% of the annual target.
According to the report of the Provincial Federation of Labor, the work of developing union members and establishing grassroots unions continues to be considered one of the key tasks.
The Provincial Federation of Labor has given strong instructions, assigning specific targets to each union level, and regularly inspecting and urging the implementation progress. Thanks to that, despite many difficulties, especially in small and medium-sized enterprises, the number of newly developed union members still reached 41.84% of the annual plan.
Not only increasing the number, trade unions at all levels also focus on improving the quality of grassroots trade union activities, promoting the signing of collective labor agreements with more beneficial provisions for workers. In the first 6 months of the year, 16/18 units have signed new agreements, reaching nearly 89% of the target.
At the same time, the Vinh Long Provincial Federation of Labor also introduced nearly 1,000 outstanding union members to the Party for consideration of admission, continuing to affirm its role as a " bridge" between the Party and the working class.
Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh - Chairman of the Vinh Long Provincial Federation of Labor - said that developing union members and establishing grassroots unions is one of the continuous political tasks, demonstrating the role of representing, caring for and protecting workers.
In the coming time, trade unions at all levels in the province will continue to review and grasp the labor situation, proactively approaching businesses to mobilize the establishment of trade union organizations, especially in the non-state sector.
"With this spirit, Vinh Long Trade Union aims to exceed the target of developing 34,500 union members by the end of the year, establishing at least 43 grassroots unions, and continuing to innovate and reorganize the apparatus in the direction of streamlining and operating effectively," Mr. Linh added.
