Closing the Hanoi Convention Opening Ceremony, 3 consensus on promoting global cybersecurity cooperation

Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang emphasized the 3 consensus results achieved through the Opening Ceremony and the Hanoi Convention Summit.

On the afternoon of October 26, in Hanoi, General Luong Tam Quang - Politburo member, Minister of Public Security of Vietnam delivered a closing speech at the Opening Ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime (Hanoi Convention).

Minister Luong Tam Quang said that in the past 2 days, the Opening Ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime was held solemnly and successfully, with representatives of 72 countries signing the treaty.

Along with the signing ceremony, the Summit including discussion sessions and sideline events took place enthusiastically with many profound opinions, clearly reflecting the picture of the cybercrime situation in the world, the efforts of each country, each organization, each individual and the urgent requirement to strengthen international cooperation in preventing and combating cybercrime.

At the same time, the conference made many proposals, initiatives and committed to effectively implementing the Hanoi Convention to create strong changes in preventing and combating cybercrime in the coming time.

Through the Opening Ceremony and the High-level Conference, in addition to the important achievements in signing the Hanoi Convention of the countries, Minister Luong Tam Quang emphasized 3 consensus results.

First of all, the Hanoi Convention is a historic strategic step, demonstrating the vision, responsibility, common efforts, and cooperative spirit of the international community for a safe, reliable cyberspace, for people, for peace and sustainable development.

The Hanoi Convention has created a legal foundation for international cooperation; at the same time, affirming the value of multilateral cooperation, equal dialogue and respect for national sovereignty, to ensure cyberspace truly becomes an environment for peace, fairness and sustainable development.

Next, the presence of many countries, international organizations, organizations and individuals attending the Opening Ceremony shows the spirit of solidarity, responsibility, political will and high determination of the international community in the fight against cybercrime, opening up new opportunities to strengthen cooperation, strengthen trust and promote common progress of humanity.

Finally, the unanimous approval of the Convention and the successful organization of the Opening Ceremony in Hanoi reaffirms the central role of the United Nations, strengthening international cooperation to deal with global challenges; at the same time, it demonstrates the trust and confidence of the United Nations, the international community in the role, prestige, capacity and responsibility of Vietnam and the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam in solving global issues, first of all, protecting cyber security for a safe, humane and sustainable cyberspace.

Vietnam deeply believes that the Opening Ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime will be a historic milestone, opening a new era of cooperation in efforts to protect peace, stability and sustainable development of humanity.

The Hanoi Convention will truly become a beacon for global cooperation in cybersecurity, leading the world to the goal of "Technology for people, digitalization for peace".
