Huawei Mate XT 2 is Huawei's second tri-fold phone, expected to launch in September 2025. The successor to the Huawei Mate XT will have at least the color options after its launch, including: Mysterious Black, Bright White, lucky Red and dark purple. In which, white is considered the main color of the new product line.
Previously, the first version of Huawei Mate XT only had 2 colors: red and black. Both versions have gold trim on the side and some other details, bringing a luxurious feeling to users.
Despite its very high price of up to 2,800 USD/unit, Huawei Mate X is said to have sold more than 500,000 units worldwide. At one point due to scarcity, the price of the world's first tri-fold smartphone reached 10,000 USD.
With that platform, Huawei is confident that it will succeed with the Mate XT 2 model when there are color changes on the phone, along with improvements in chips and cameras.
According to sources, the Huawei Mate XT is likely to launch at the same time as Apple's iPhone 17. This will create an interesting race between the world's two leading brands.
In addition to Huawei, Samsung is also developing a tri-fold smartphone, expected to be called the Galaxy G Fold. The device was originally scheduled to be announced at the Galaxy Unpacked event this July, but it was later postponed to the end of the year. Samsung's leaders confirmed that they will launch a tri-fold smartphone by the end of 2025, but there is no specific time frame.
