Huawei surpasses Apple, Xiaomi in global wearables market share

Huawei has risen to the top of the global wearables market in the first quarter of 2025, surpassing strong competitors such as Apple and Xiaomi.

According to market research firm IDC, from January to March 2025, Huawei has sold 10 million wearables, accounting for 21.9% of the market share. According to experts, Huawei has achieved good business results thanks to diverse products such as Huawei Watch GT 5, Fit 3 and Ultimate.

As of June 5, Huawei's total global wearables have reached over 200 units. Last year, Huawei sold only 7 million wearables in the first 3 months of 2024, accounting for 17% of the market share.

But this year, the Chinese company has sold more than 3 million units. Improving features, especially health care mode on smartwatches, Huawei's wearables have been effective.

Xiaomi is behind Huawei with sales of 8.7 million units, accounting for 19% of the global market share. Compared to last year, Xiaomi has grown by 42.6% and is leading the Chinese market in terms of sales growth rate.

Apple also had a relatively successful first quarter of 2025, selling 7 million wearables, up significantly from 5.1 million in the same period last year. Apple accounts for 15.5% of the global market share.

Samsung and Garmin took fourth and fifth place respectively. Samsung sold 3.4 million smartwatches in the first 3 months of 2025, thereby accounting for 7.5% of the market share. Meanwhile, Garmin sold 2.1 million wearables and accounted for 4.7% of the market share worldwide.

Overall, the global wearables market reached 45.57 million products in the first quarter with an increase of 10.5% over the same period last year. Of these, more than 17 million products are sold in the Chinese market.
