Huawei is expected to launch its next tri-fold smartphone in September.

September 2025 promises to attract the attention of the technology world, when Apple launched the iPhone 17 on September 9, but Huawei will introduce the next three-generation foldable smartphone.

According to Phone Arena, Huawei will introduce the Mate XTs tri-fold smartphone on September 4. This will be Huawei's second tri-screen folding phone and also the world's second third-fold commercial phone.

The first Huawei Mate XT line was launched in China on September 20, 2024 and then expanded to overseas markets in March 2025. This time, Huawei will start introducing a new model in China in September 2025 and expand globally in early 2026.

According to Chinese media, Huawei Mate XTs will have 4 basic colors: Dark purple, white sand filter, lucky red and dark black. Mate XTs still retain the Z-shaped design characterized by its eye-catching appearance. The machine will likely use the Kirin 9020 chipset.

Mate XTs are expected to be cheaper than the first model, which has a starting price of up to $3,500. A recent report says the new phone could cost $2,100. This price is close to the "normal" price of a current foldable phone. For comparison, Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 7 has a starting price of 2,000 USD for the base memory version.

Mate XTs is one of Huawei's most anticipated smartphone models. This manufacturer has dominated the foldable smartphone market share in China in the first half of 2025 with 75%, far surpassing Honor, Xiaomi or Oppo. Of which, the Huawei MateXT model alone has sold more than 500,000 units.

Like other Huawei product lines, the Mate XTs model will have limitations when using Google's services.
