According to The Straits Times, a Chinese couple suddenly became famous on social media because of a rare story.
The man, surnamed Ye, and his wife, Ms. Xue, have been married for five years. One day, the wife accidentally found a photo taken 18 years ago and discovered that she had met her husband when they were teenagers.
The couple lived in Chengdu. They visited May Fourth Square in the coastal city of Qingdao in July 2000.
At that time, Mr. Ye was traveling and visiting this place with a tour group, while Ms. Xue was visiting with her mother.
Ms. Xue was wearing a white dress, taking a photo with the sculpture in the square. In the distance, Mr. Ye was also posing for a photo, accidentally getting into the photo.
About 11 years after this photo, the couple met in Chengdu, got married and moved in together.
Mr. Ye said he looked at his wife's childhood photos at her mother-in-law's house because he was curious to know who his twin daughters looked like.
“While I was looking at the photos, I saw a man standing in the corner of one photo and exclaimed: That's me,” Mr. Ye shared in an interview.
When he got home, he also found a photo of himself taken at the same location. Mr. Ye shared this story on social media and received positive interactions.
He and his wife plan to bring their children back to the place in Qingdao because it has special meaning to him and his wife.
