Hanoi has new public high schools, adding thousands of targets for 10th grade
According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training (GDĐT), in the new school year, the public school system will have 4 more high schools including: Hoang Quan Chi, Vinh Hung, Viet Hung and Xuan Khanh. In which, Xuan Khanh High School is expanded with new facilities, increasing the enrollment scale. In total, these 4 schools are expected to add about 2,400 targets for 10th grade students.

In addition, Hanoi also has 2 more private high schools, Tran Hung Dao and Edison, providing about 800 quotas. In the context that the whole city has about 147,000 secondary school graduates but only about 60% are admitted to the public system, the increase in schools partly helps reduce enrollment pressure.
The 10th grade entrance exam in Hanoi in 2026 takes place from January 30 to June 6 with 3 subjects: Math, Literature and Foreign Language.
