The Ministry of Education establishes a team to inspect extra teaching and learning
From February 20 to March 20, the Ministry of Education and Training established an inspection team to inspect the implementation of Circular 29/2024 on extra teaching and learning under the direction of the Prime Minister. Circular 29 stipulates that schools are only allowed to organize free extra classes for three groups of students, including students with unsatisfactory results, excellent students who are selected for training, and final year students who voluntarily register to review for the exam.
Teachers are not allowed to collect extra teaching fees from their students outside of school. Violating regulations can be disciplined such as reprimand, warning, and even forced to quit. In addition, teachers who teach extra classes outside of school without registering for business can be fined from 5-10 million VND according to Decree 122/2021. The inspection was carried out due to many shortcomings in the management of extra teaching and learning in the past, causing negative impacts on education and creating bad public opinion in society.
