On October 31, a working delegation of the Hanoi People's Committee led by Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Truong Viet Dung visited and worked with the Vietnam - Korea Institute of Science and Technology.
At the meeting, Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Duc Loi - Director of the Vietnam - Korea Institute of Science and Technology presented a general introduction of the formation process, development orientation and initial results of the Institute after nearly 10 years of establishment.
Currently, the Vietnam - Korea Institute of Science and Technology focuses on 8 key areas, all of which are applied research directions associated with national strategic technologies such as: environment, energy, biotechnology, electronics, information technology, etc.
In particular, every year the Vietnam - Korea Institute of Science and Technology has new inventions, in which many products have been commercialized to create an independent source of capital for research activities.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Duc Loi, Vietnam - Korea Institute of Science and Technology focuses on training in-depth research human resources.
Since 2017, the Institute has implemented a project to train a group of research staff in the semiconductor field - from design, manufacturing, testing to product packaging. This human resource will be the core force for the Institute's semiconductor laboratory when completed.
The Vietnam - Korea Institute of Science and Technology is implementing an innovation cooperation program with enterprises. Accordingly, researchers from the Institute will directly participate in working at enterprises, learning about production processes to propose solutions for technological innovation and labor productivity increase.
Initial results show that enterprises participating in the program have achieved an average productivity increase of hundreds of times compared to before, thanks to the application of research results in production. In 2025, the Institute plans to pilot this model with five enterprises in the high-tech sector, aiming to expand in the following years.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Truong Viet Dung congratulated the results that the Vietnam - Korea Institute of Science and Technology has achieved in recent times, especially in the fields of science, technology, and innovation.
Mr. Truong Viet Dung said that in recent years, the city has paid special attention to investing and developing science and technology in the spirit of Resolution 57 of the Politburo.
In order to concretize the Capital Law (2024) and major policies of the Central Government, the Hanoi People's Council has recently passed 6 specific Resolutions on science, technology and innovation.
