According to the plan, the opening ceremony of the 2025-2026 school year will take place on September 5.
Previously, on August 25, students in Ho Chi Minh City also returned to school, attended school - starting the new school year, so the demand for school supplies, textbooks, etc. is increasing.
At a stationery store in Cho Quan ward (HCMC), it was recorded that on August 27, there were quite a few people coming to shop for books, handbags, school supplies, etc.
The store employee said that purchasing power has increased by 30-60% in the past week, especially in the past 2 weekends (23 and 24/8), before the day students in the whole city attended school.

"Most parents and students come to buy backpacks and school supplies such as pens, measurements, computers, etc., but there is a need to buy textbooks, but not too much.
Currently, the city is using many textbooks at the same time and each school also uses different sets of books, no school is like any other school, so most parents choose to place textbooks at school, so the demand for books outside is not too high," said this person.
Ms. Thuy Linh (Cau Ong Lanh Ward) said that textbooks have been placed at school, while other school supplies have been ordered online because the price is cheaper.
"I just came here to buy more pens and deleted pens because I ordered them the day before and I needed them," Ms. Linh said.
At the recent conference to deploy tasks for the 2025-2026 school year, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu - Director of the Department of Education and Training (DET) of Ho Chi Minh City requested principals of schools to collect and spend in accordance with regulations.
"Absolutely do not force parents to buy backpacks, watches, shoes or other commercial items. Uniforms should only stop at the basic level, such as clothes and badges to create discipline for students. Do not expand to too many items, causing difficulties and costs for parents and students", emphasized Director of the Department of Education and Training Nguyen Van Hieu.
