2025 is the first year that students under the new General Education Program graduate, so the Ministry of Education and Training has issued new, unified nationwide junior high school and high school admission regulations.
Accordingly, to enroll students in grade 10, localities can choose to conduct entrance exams, admission exams, or a combination of entrance exams and admission exams.
If taking the entrance exam, the exam includes Math, Literature and a third subject (or a combined exam). This subject is selected by the Department of Education and Training from subjects assessed by scores, but a subject cannot be selected for more than 3 consecutive years.
Regarding the regulations, the third subject or exam will be announced after the end of semester 1 but no later than March 31 every year.
Up to now, Can Tho is the second locality to announce the third subject plan for the 10th grade entrance exam in 2025. Accordingly, the subject chosen by this province is English.
Previously, Hai Duong was the first locality in the country to announce a third exam subject for grade 10 this year.
Some provinces and cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Khanh Hoa, Tien Giang, Quang Nam, although not yet announced the official plan, all have proposed to choose English as the third subject for the 10th grade entrance exam. For details, see HERE.
