According to experts, artificial intelligence is not only a technology trend but also a key driving force for economic growth and innovation.

On December 4, 2025, CMC University (CMCU) opened the first International Conference on Artificial Intelligence with the theme "AI - Impact and Potential" (ICAI-IP 2025) in Hanoi.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh - Chairman of CMC Group, Chairman of the Board of CMC University emphasized that artificial intelligence is not only a technological trend but also a key driving force for economic growth and innovation.

He affirmed that CMC Group is committed to long-term investment in higher education, scientific research and development of high-quality human resources, considering this a foundation for Vietnam to improve competitiveness in the context of globalization.

Speaking at the conference, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tung - Vice President of EVP CMC Group, Principal of CMC University emphasized: At CMCU, AI is not only a tool to improve the efficiency of governance - teaching - research, AI is also a training goal, a driving force for innovation and a factor connecting the entire model of institutions - schools - businesses.

The three orientations for AI implementation at CMCU include:

AI in management: Forecast, optimize processes, smart management systems and improve the quality of decision making.

AI in training: Integrating AI training assistants, reversal classes, digital experience simulations and personalizing learning processes, smart assessment - testing systems, designing training programs based on data.

AI in research: big data analysis, simulation and complex model forecasting, building a lab ecosystem, interdisciplinary AI research center.

At the plenary session, international speakers gave many in-depth presentations on the development trend of AI.

Mr. Andre- Louis Rochet, CEO of TW3 Partners (France) presented a typical report "From knowledge management to Robotics: How can Vietnam exploit Generative AI", analyzing the potential for AI application in businesses and knowledge governance. Mr. Joongshik Wang, leader of EY-Parthenon Asia - Pacific, clarified the impact of AI on the labor market and economic competitiveness.

The conference brings together the participation of many domestic universities and prestigious international training institutions and organizations such as the University of Washington (USA), Deakin University (Australia), Vishwakarma Institute of Technology and New Horizon College of Engineering (India), Tressler LLP (USA), Kyonggi University (Korea) ...

In addition to the plenary session, the conference also held four parallel sessions with a total of 20 in-depth reports and 55 scientific posters, covering the topics of artificial intelligence in economics, information technology, microelectronics, business and governance.

ICAI-IP 2025 is an important first step in the series of annual international conferences on artificial intelligence organized by CMCU, contributing to promoting research and innovation, expanding academic and business cooperation, developing the AI ecosystem in Vietnam, and training high-quality AI human resources.

Through the conference, the results of scientific research are expected to contribute to providing a theoretical and practical basis for policy making activities, as well as the implementation of development strategies in the digital transformation era.
