New school, new joy
At the end of August, Muong Khuong Primary and Secondary Boarding School had a new look.
Classrooms, dormitories and items serving students' activities are basically completed, ready for the first school year at the new facility.
At school, teachers are taking advantage of arranging classrooms, checking tables and chairs, teaching aids and preparing necessary conditions to welcome students.
The urgent atmosphere is evident in each area as the opening time is approaching.
The boarding school project has a total investment of more than 250 billion VND, expected to create a better learning and living environment for students in the Muong Khuong highlands, especially those in remote areas with difficult travel.
Talking to reporters, Ms. Mong Thi Duyen, Principal of Muong Khuong Primary and Secondary Boarding School, said that the facilities at the school basically meet the learning and accommodation needs of boarding students.
The school space is invested synchronously, ensuring safety and convenience for teaching and living activities.
“The teachers are all very excited because they have a new working environment and new conditions. Up to this point, basically we see that everything is good, meeting the conditions for students,” Ms. Duyen shared.
According to the principal, the preparation does not stop at classrooms or dormitories. Essential items serving students' daily activities are also fully prepared by the school, from necessities to personal items such as toothbrushes and toothpaste.
What makes the school happier is the peace of mind of parents when witnessing their children's learning and living conditions with their own eyes.
Parents come here and see conditions like this, they are very happy and reassured. Some parents say that seeing things like this, they can rest assured to entrust their children to the teachers," Ms. Duyen said.
Parents are assured, teachers are ready
The appearance of a new school in the mountains has received great attention from local people. However, the demand for children to enroll is quite high while the enrollment quota is limited.
Mr. Nung Tan Tien, Head of Na Khuy village, Muong Khuong commune, said that many households in the village have applied for their children, but because the area is near the school, not all students are eligible for priority.
According to Mr. Tien, the school mainly prioritizes students in remote and isolated areas, with difficult travel and difficult circumstances.
Everyone is excited to have a new school with such good conditions. Many households here apply for their children, but not everyone is admitted, mainly families who are really in difficulty are prioritized," Mr. Tien said.
Mr. Vang Di Min, a resident of Sa Pa village, Muong Khuong commune, said that local people are very excited when the new boarding school is completed and put into operation.
According to him, the new school with better learning and living conditions is what people expect, especially for families with children who are eligible to study.
People here are very excited. With a new school, better learning conditions, everyone is happy. Families with children enrolled are also very reassured, because the children have a more complete and convenient learning and living environment," Mr. Min shared.
Mr. Nguyen Hong Hung, Chairman of Muong Khuong Commune People's Committee, informed that the locality is focusing on directing forces to coordinate with the school to complete the final tasks, ensuring conditions to serve the new school year and the opening ceremony.
According to Mr. Hung, the commune also requested to review facilities, environmental sanitation, security and order, and living conditions for students, especially in the dormitory area.
Relevant units are assigned to closely coordinate with the school, promptly handling issues arising before the opening day.
