Quang Tri - Diep's parents caught the chicken, tied it to the leg and put it in a plastic bag from the night until the next morning, so he could take it to the school to give to his teacher on November 20.

On the morning of November 20, teachers of A Xing Primary and Secondary School (Lia commune, Quang Tri province) were moved to receive simple but emotional gifts from students in the border area.

Previously, on the evening of November 19, in a small house in Ky Tang village, Mr. Ho Van Mia and his wife, Ms. Ho Thi Lau, prepared a "special" gift for their daughter Ho Thi Diep, a student of class 5B, to give to the homeroom teacher.

Mr. Mia went to the barn to catch a chicken, carefully tie his leg and place it in a plastic bag hanging in the corner of the house. Mrs. Lau chose to buy a rather beautiful pink wrapped in paper. All are the hearts of the Van Kieu couple for their child's homeroom teacher.

At 6am, it was cold and rainy, Diep wore a shirt, walked 2km to school, and had two gifts in hand that his parents had prepared. When he arrived, he knocked on the door of the official room of his homeroom teacher Nguyen Cong Sanh. When the teacher opened the door, Diep gave two gifts and a simple wish: "I wish you a happy November 20th".

Mr. Sanh is 49 years old this year and has been involved in schools in disadvantaged areas for more than 20 years, of which 8 years in lia commune, in addition to Diep's gift, this morning his room continuously rang the door. Students came to give touching gifts, including a sugarcane, three bags of sticky rice about 15 cans, a bouquet of wild flowers wrapped in lemongrass leaves, and a few roses.

"All of you are children of ethnic minorities, and your life is full of hardship. When I received the gift and listened to the wishes, I was very moved. I called Diep's father to ask to receive the flowers and chickens to return, but Mr. Mia said that it was a family affection, he accepted them for his parents to enjoy" - Mr. Sanh shared.

Not only Mr. Sanh, on the morning of November 20, the office of Mr. Nguyen Mai Trong - Principal of A Xing Primary and Secondary School also had students come to bring surprise gifts. The children of class 1B, Ho Thi A Nuong, Ho Thi Thuy and Ho Thi Trung, gave him a chicken and two bags containing about 10 cans of sticky rice.

This morning, many teachers in the school received gifts from parents and students, including wild bamboo shoots, sticky rice, roses, wild flowers, sugarcane... and even chickens. We really appreciate that affection and will try harder to improve the quality of teaching said Mr. Mai Trong.

A Xing Primary and Secondary School is located in the Vietnam - Laos border area, with 22 classes with 610 students, of which 95% are children of Van Kieu and Pa Co ethnic groups. The living conditions are still difficult, but on the day of honoring the teaching profession, parents and students still remember teachers and give rustic gifts that warm teachers' hearts.

In plastic bags containing sticky rice, in wild flower bunches, or chickens carefully tied with ropes... is the sincere gratitude of parents and students. The gifts do not have much material value, but make Vietnamese Teachers' Day in this border area beautiful and touching.
