The project to renovate and upgrade National Highway 6, Ba La - Xuan Mai section, started in December 2022, with the goal of contributing to completing the radial road connecting National Highway 21A - Ho Chi Minh Road and Ring Road 4 of the Capital Region.
The project starts at km14 in Ba La, Ha Dong district; the end point is km38, ending in Xuan Mai town, adjacent to Luong Son district, Hoa Binh province.
The project has a total investment of 8,100 billion VND from the City budget. Of which, about 5,100 billion VND is for site clearance, 2,900 billion VND is for construction costs and equipment purchases.
According to the design, the route is 50-60m wide, with a design speed of 80km/h. On the route, there is a box culvert (Tuan culvert) and seven bridges including: Mai Linh, Dong Tru, Tan Truong, Quan Lat, Xuan Mai, Song Bui and Nam Lu.
The project has four major intersections, including grade-separated intersections (where two or more roads intersect at different elevations) with National Highway 21A, the North-South trunk road and Ring Road 4.
To implement the above project, Chuong My district needs to reclaim about 85 hectares of land. Up to now, this locality has handed over nearly 25 hectares of land to the investor to construct the project in the communes of Phu Nghia, Truong Yen, Dong Son, Thuy Xuan Tien, and Xuan Mai town.
In Ha Dong district, according to preliminary data, there are about 300 households subject to site clearance with a total land area recovered to implement the project of about 30 hectares.
Ha Dong District has directed departments, offices, and wards to conduct investigations, surveys, measurements, and determine land locations, and take inventory of houses and assets attached to the land. Once detailed data is available, the district will develop a plan for compensation, support, and resettlement, and issue a notice of land recovery to households.
The investor, the Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board, said it has directed contractors to speed up the project's construction progress as soon as the site is received and the construction conditions are met.
According to the Hanoi Statistics Office, the project has so far disbursed 9.4% of the capital plan.
