On the night of December 3, Mr. Vu Duc Nhuan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Son Dien Commune (Lam Dong) said that heavy rain lasting from afternoon to night caused a serious landslide on Gia Bac Pass on National Highway 28.
After receiving the information, the local authorities mobilized forces to the scene to inspect, regulate and divert traffic to ensure traffic safety.

On the other hand, local authorities and functional forces are urgently implementing measures to overcome landslides.
Through on-site inspection, the authorities recorded 5 landslides on Gia Bac Pass. Of which, there was 1 large-scale landslide at Km50'Km51 on National Highway 28.

At the large landslide, a large amount of rock and soil and forest trees from the positive slope buried the road surface.
Although the landslides in the remaining areas are smaller, due to continued heavy rain, the risk of landslides is still very high. The landslide completely paralyzed traffic in both directions on National Highway 28.
Currently, vehicles traveling on National Highway 28 are being blocked. The authorities are regulating and instructing the driver to turn around to ensure safety.

Chairman of Son Dien Commune People's Committee, Mr. Vu Duc Nhuan, said that the commune is mobilizing forces and vehicles to coordinate with Lam Dong Provincial Police Traffic Police to fix landslides.
However, due to many landslides with large volumes of rock and soil and lack of means, the repair work has encountered many difficulties.

Gia Bac Pass is more than 10km long, located on National Highway 28 connecting Son Dien Commune with Ham Thuan Bac Commune to National Highway 1A; in the opposite direction, National Highway 28 connects with National Highway 20 to Da Lat and Ho Chi Minh City.
The authorities recommend that people do not move to National Highway 28 during the complicated landslide and the paralyzed road to ensure safety.
