On July 31, domestic coffee prices continued to increase sharply, approaching the 100,000 VND/kg mark. Specifically, Dak Lak and Dak Nong both reached 99,700 VND/kg, an increase of 1,700 VND. Gia Lai and Lam Dong recorded 99,500 VND/kg, an increase of 1,700 - 2,200 VND respectively. The average price of Central Highlands coffee reached 99,600 VND/kg, an increase of 1,700 VND compared to yesterday.
Compared to last week, domestic coffee prices increased by over VND3,000/kg. This is the highest price in recent weeks, reflecting the active demand for stocks and transactions of dealers.
On the London Stock Exchange, Robusta prices increased simultaneously. The September 2025 contract closed at 3,411 USD/ton, up 66 USD (1.97%). The November 2025 term reached 3,345 USD/ton, up 55 USD (1.67%). Longer terms also increased from 22 - 43 USD/ton.
On the contrary, Arabica prices on the New York exchange continued to decrease. The September 2025 contract closed at 293.40 cents/lb, down 3.10 cents (1.05%). The terms of December 2025 and March 2026 also decreased by nearly 3 cents, down to 286.85 and 280.45 cents/lb respectively.
Robusta coffee prices increased on Wednesday and were supported by dry weather forecasts in Vietnam after updated forecasts ruled out the possibility of rain in Vietnam's coffee-producing regions this week. Vietnam is the world's largest producer of Robusta coffee.
Funds holding too many fake Robusta coffee selling positions could aggravate any offset price increase in the future Robusta coffee market.
World coffee prices have decreased in the past three months due to the prospect of abundant coffee supply.
Earlier this month, arabica coffee prices fell to an 8-month low and robusta coffee prices fell to a 1.25-year low against the most recent futures contract price.
On June 25, the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) under the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) forecast that Brazil's coffee output in the 2025/26 crop year will increase by +0.5% over the same period last year, reaching 65 million bags and Vietnam's coffee output in the 2025/26 crop year will increase by 6.9% over the same period last year, reaching the highest level in 4 years of 31 million bags. Brazil is the world's largest producer of arabica coffee, and our country is the world's largest producer of robusta coffee.
