On June 27, according to Lao Dong, Vice Chairman of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee Luong Trong Quynh signed and issued a document on organizing an inspection of the production and business situation, and the management of construction material prices at mines in Lang Son province.
The Department of Construction will coordinate with functional units such as the Provincial Police, the Department of Finance, the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Market Management Department, the Tax Department of Region VI... to conduct inspections, assessments and handle signs of law violations in exploitation activities, valuations and adjustments to construction material prices.
The inspection activities will be based on the provisions of Circular No. 28/2024/TT-BTC of the Ministry of Finance, Decree No. 87/2024/ND-CP of the Government and current legal regulations. The implementation results will be reported to the Provincial People's Committee before July 10, 2025.
This move takes place in the context of many civil and public investment construction projects in the province reflecting the sudden increase in material prices, affecting the progress and costs of the project. Strictly controlling the supply and prices of materials is considered an urgent solution to ensure market transparency, prevent speculation and price manipulation.
The Provincial People's Committee requests relevant departments and branches to closely coordinate with the Department of Construction during the implementation process to ensure effectiveness, efficiency and compliance with regulations.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper received feedback that Hung Son Sand and Stone mine (Trang Dinh district) has continuously adjusted the selling price of construction materials in a short time. This has caused many mixed opinions from the business community and local people.
According to the reporter's records, from mid-April to mid-May 2025, the price of construction sand at Hung Son mine - under Gia Loc Joint Stock Company has been adjusted up twice.
From 330,000 VND/m3, the selling price was raised to 360,000 VND/m3 and then to 400,000 VND/m3.
Immediately afterwards, the Ministry of Construction sent a document to the People's Committees of Tuyen Quang, Ha Giang, Lang Son and Cao Bang provinces requesting to strengthen control of material quality, labor safety and environmental sanitation during the construction of key expressway projects in the area.
However, after the directive, the price of construction materials, especially sand prices in Lang Son province, is still continuing to increase, causing difficulties for key projects and basic construction in the area.
