On the afternoon of December 27, the Kien Giang Provincial Federation of Labor held a conference to review the Union's work in 2024 and deploy key tasks in 2025.
In 2024, Kien Giang Trade Union at all levels organized many cultural, artistic, and sports activities, the highlight of which was the sports festival for workers, civil servants, and laborers with the participation of more than 1,600 athletes.
Trade Unions at all levels have implemented 118 projects, models and products to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of Vietnam Trade Union with a total value of over 9.2 billion VND, estimated to bring benefits and savings to the budget of about 6 billion VND.
The union signed 24 new cooperation agreements with businesses to implement welfare programs and benefited over 25,000 union members, worth over 2.5 billion VND.
On the other hand, the Trade Unions at all levels used part of the financial resources combined with mobilizing more than 16.6 billion VND to take care of over 55,000 union members and workers in difficult circumstances on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin in 2024, Workers' Month... Visiting and giving gifts to 9,757 union members and workers, those in difficult circumstances in life, those who had work accidents, occupational diseases... more than 4.6 billion VND.
The Trade Unions under the District Trade Union presented 31,950 gifts, with a total value of over 14.6 billion VND.
The Provincial Federation of Labor mobilized union members and businesses to contribute over 7.2 billion VND to the Trade Union Shelter program, thereby building 69 new houses and repairing 18 houses for union members in difficult circumstances with a total amount of 3.9 billion VND.
Chairman of the Kien Giang Provincial Federation of Labor Truong Thanh Thuy said that in 2025, Trade Unions at all levels will have a firm grasp of the labor situation, determined to develop union members, and establish grassroots unions to achieve the set targets. Consolidate and build strong grassroots union organizations in agencies and units. Launch widespread and effective patriotic emulation movements to welcome Party Congresses at all levels. Organize well activities to represent and protect the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers.
On this occasion, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor awarded emulation flags to 2 school trade unions that had outstanding achievements in the emulation movement for good workers and building strong trade union organizations in the 2023-2024 school year; the Provincial Confederation of Labor awarded certificates of merit to 17 collectives with outstanding achievements in trade union activities in 2024.
