Looking back at the 95 years of formation and development of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, how do you evaluate the role of the Front in the revolutionary cause and the country's renovation?
- A very outstanding feature of the Vietnam United National Front (now the Vietnam Fatherland Front) is that the Front was born at the same time as the Communist Party of Vietnam, in the year 1930.
Throughout the past 95 years, there has been almost no period without the Front in the struggle for independence, national reunification as well as building socialism. In each period, due to revolutionary needs, the Party set a policy, the Front had different forms of organization with different names to implement that policy of the Party.
It can be concluded that over the past 95 years, the Front has been a bridge between the Party and the people, the people and the Party, making a great contribution to the struggle for national independence, freedom, national reunification and promoting the cause of innovation, bringing the country to socialism.
In your opinion, what makes the "identity" of the great national unity bloc of Vietnam - the factor that helps us overcome all challenges in nearly a century?
- First of all, it must be affirmed that our nation is a nation with a tradition of patriotism and solidarity. It is the tradition of patriotism and solidarity that has created the soul of our nation throughout the process of building and defending the country.
Historically, Vietnam has often had to fight foreign invaders with more troops than it is, stronger than it is in economic potential and initially superior in military technical means... But in the end, with the motto of the resistance war, Vietnam won. From 3 victories over the Chinese Mong army in the context of this army dominating most of Europe and most of Asia, but Vietnam still lost. Most recently, we defeated the French colonialists, Japan's Zhu Zhu Zhu, the American Imperialists - the famous Imperial powers... All for the nation of our people has a tradition of patriotism and solidarity. As Uncle Ho once said, when our people are united, our country will gain independence, when our people are divided, our country will be attacked by foreign countries. Solidarity has become a tradition, a core of our nation.
Since 1930 under the leadership of the Party, that patriotic tradition has been aroused and promoted more by new forms of organization of the Front. The Front was born to gather and multiply the strength of national solidarity.
It can be affirmed that the glorious feats that our people and our country have achieved over the past 95 years are the crystallization and development to the height of the spirit of great national unity on the foundation of patriotism. The most noble, greatest and proud quality of our nation is solidarity, thanks to which such great achievements have been achieved. In which, the Party set out guidelines and the Front has successfully fulfilled its historical mission of successfully implementing that guidelines.
The phrase "Great National Unity" has become a red thread throughout the Party's revolutionary line. From the perspective of a researcher and a person who has been attached to the Front for many years, how do you feel about the contemporary significance of this spirit in the current period?
- Great solidarity is a continuous cause in the Party's revolutionary guidelines. To maintain the strength of national unity, we need to further promote democracy with the spirit of "people are the root" and well implement Uncle Ho's teachings: "To truly unite, there must be true democracy".
The 13th National Party Congress set a goal of making our country a developing country with a high average income by 2030. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party and towards 2045, it will be a developed country with high income. To achieve those goals, it is necessary to bring national solidarity to new heights and new depths. We must create social consensus, harmoniously resolve interests between classes and classes; encourage private economic development; care for people with revolutionary contributions, families of war invalids and martyrs... At the same time, we must enthusiastically fight against corruption, waste and negativity - this is an extremely important but extremely difficult fight.
To further promote the tradition and strength of national unity, it is necessary to first of all better implement the issue of democracy with the awareness of the people as the root.
Second, it is necessary to harmoniously resolve the interests between classes and social classes.
Third, perform well the function of supervision and social criticism so that all policies and guidelines of the Party and the State are close to reality and in line with the people's wishes.
Fourth, mobilize people to proactively and enthusiastically participate in the fight against corruption, waste and negativity.
