Practicing democracy and enhancing social consensus is the "soul" and "lifestyle" of the Front's work
The great President Ho Chi Minh - Founder of the Vietnam National United Front and a beautiful symbol of great national unity once said: "In the sky, nothing is more precious than the people. There is nothing stronger in the world than the united forces of the people (Ho Chi Minh: Toan tap, Sdd, p. 10, p. 453). His ideology on democracy and building the State of the people, by the people, for the people is one of the comprehensive and throughout his revolutionary activities.
Uncle Ho's affirmation is a beacon for the Party and State in the process of leading the people through the revolutionary periods.Because the people's trust is the invaluable strength and asset of the Party.In any situation, at the head of the storm, from natural disasters, epidemics to war, from national resistance to building the country in the period of innovation and integration, our people are always united, together overcoming all difficulties and challenges.
Over the past 95 years, the Vietnam National United Front, now the Vietnam Fatherland Front, has aroused the spirit of patriotism, promoted the great strength of the great national unity bloc, raised the pioneering flag connecting the will and actions of all classes of people, contributing to creating all victories in the cause of struggle for liberation and national construction.
The Front is a representative of the people, a place to gather the thoughts and aspirations of ethnic minorities, religions and overseas Vietnamese. Throughout every revolutionary historical period, the core role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has always been promoted, gathering the strength of the entire nation, joining hands to carry out the important tasks of the country.
To put the viewpoint of "People are the center", "People are the master" into practice, requires the Vietnam Fatherland Front to enhance its role in representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of the people, considering the implementation of democracy, creating social consensus as the "soul" and "living line" of the Front work, promoting the people's mastery as a basic condition for implementing socialist democracy.
The "heart" and " than" of the Front cadres must be for the country, for the people
At the first Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Party Committee and Central organizations for the 2025-2030 term, General Secretary To Lam emphasized: "The front is the people", "The strength of the Front is the strength of the people's heart. The tradition of the Front is solidarity".
The General Secretary expressed his greatest wish in this term to clearly see the change at the grassroots level: "less groups, more work, more action, less slogan, less procedures, more smiles from the people".
The affirmation of the General Secretary not only recognizes the glorious and proud tradition of the Front but also orients the noble role and mission, the heavy responsibility that the Front needs to shoulder to bring the whole nation into a new era of development.
This requires and requires cadres, party members in general, and Front cadres in particular to innovate working methods, reposition themselves to improve qualifications, adapt to the environment, and perfect thinking in the new development context and space as at present.
And only when both the "Heart" and the "Body" of the Front cadres are devoted to the country and the people, will the Front truly be the place to connect the Party, the State with the people, and gain the full trust of the Party and the trust of the people. At the same time, it must be considered a means of life, a goal of striving for the Front cadres in the new period.
Accordingly, the Front cadre needs to have a pure "Heart", absolute loyalty to the Fatherland and the people. All thoughts and ideas originate from the interests of the country and the happiness of the people. We must love the people, respect them, be close to them, understand the joys, sorrows, hopes and aspirations of the people. Taking the satisfaction and results of caring for people's lives as a measure of work efficiency.
To make people see that the Front does not just speak fluently, does not applaud, does not do symbolic or formal things, the activities of the Front must be linked to practice, said in parallel, and done, expressed through practical and effective actions; the results and products of the Front's work must be concretized, and can be " scaled, measured, and counted" clearly.
The " than" of the Front cadres needs to be for the country and the people, closely attached to the grassroots, regularly listening to the opinions of the people, promptly grasping the thoughts and aspirations and resolving the people's pressing problems.
In supervising, criticizing, and implementing legal policies, Front cadres must be exemplary in ethics, lifestyle, and sense of responsibility. We must be pioneers and take the lead in difficult and arduous work. We must be diligent, suffer, not for personal gain or group gain, solve all work fairly, transparently, and respect the law; always consider the people's work as the work of our family.
If this can be done, all policies and guidelines of the Party and State will come into life most effectively when the Front cadres have a pure "Heart" and "Then".
At the 1st Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Party Committee and Central organizations, the guiding viewpoints were "3 approaches", "3 must", "4 must", "4 must", in which, "3 approaches": Near the people, near the grassroots, near the digital space; "3 must": Must listen, must dialogue, must be an example, must take responsibility and must report the results; "4 no's" (4 no's): No formality, no avoidance, no pushing, no wrong functions, of General Secretary To Lam became an important "commander" for the innovation of the content and methods of operation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. To ensure the successful implementation of that guiding viewpoint, in the coming time, the activities of the political system need to focus on implementing the following specific solutions:
Firstly, it is necessary to urgently complete the coordination regulations between the Party, the government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and organizations at all levels, to ensure a clear division of functions, tasks and authority of each institution in the political system. The establishment and operation of this coordination will contribute to overcoming overlaps, shirking responsibility, "playing football while blowing the whistle" or institutionalizing the work of the Front; at the same time, it will be the foundation for building a streamlined political system, operating in the right role, operating synchronously, and connecting with real life.
Second, the team of cadres, party members, and civil servants, including Front cadres at all levels, must also actively innovate, implement strong digital transformation, build the image of Front cadres in the digital age to better perform the functions and tasks of the Front; at the same time, promote the policies and resolutions of digital transformation of the Party and State. Responding practically to the "Digital Civil Judgment Education" Movement, the innovation of the method of mobilization, gathering and propaganda of the Vietnam Fatherland Front through the "Digital Front" platforms has contributed to improving the effectiveness of the Front's work.
Third, form the mindset of "rduying to think", "rduying to do", "rduying to take responsibility" for the common interests of the Front's cadres and civil servants - instead of the mentality of "doing the right procedures but not daring to decide", "waiting for superiors to direct" or avoiding responsibility. Only when cadres are brave enough to follow the role-playing mechanism in the political system can they operate effectively, limiting the situation of "one person doing, many people avoiding" in the organization.
Fourth, raising political awareness, sense of responsibility to set an example for each cadre, party member, and Front cadre in the context of globalization, international integration, market economic development, and private economy. Encourage people to get rich legitimately and in accordance with the law. So that people and businesses see that behind them, around them are Front cadres and associations and unions at all levels, always being a solid and reliable support, creating motivation and inspiring people and businesses to confidently start businesses and develop the economy.
Fifth, the work of supervision and social criticism needs to be significantly improved according to the motto "clear work - clear responsibility - clear efficiency", regularly deploying the model of "Listening to the People" at all facilities; innovating emulation movements, associated with the goal of sustainable development; arousing the aspiration to rise up in all classes of people, especially core forces such as workers, farmers, youth, women, and prestigious people in the community.
In the new era of the country, the responsibility of the Vietnam Fatherland Front is very heavy but extremely glorious. More than ever, the Front needs to continue to strongly innovate its methods of operation, promote its core role in gathering people of all classes, promote democratic practices, create social consensus, promote the people's mastery in social supervision and criticism, participate in building a clean and strong Party and government; actively prevent corruption, waste and negativity. Thereby, the Front truly becomes a center of solidarity, converging the strength of the entire nation for the goal of a rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness, and civilization.
