On June 23, the Steering Committee for the implementation of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in Soc Trang province said that the whole province had completed 8,917/8,917 houses, reaching 100% of the schedule 3 months ahead of schedule. This is the result of strong direction, synchronous participation of the entire political system and the cooperation of people, the business community, organizations and unions.
The total budget for implementing the program is 463.59 billion VND, used to build new and repair houses for people with revolutionary contributions, relatives of martyrs, poor households, near-poor households and households under the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority Areas.

With the active attention of Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front, and socio-political organizations, localities have mobilized to contribute a large number of working days, with about 42,678 working days. In particular, the Provincial Military Command deployed 150 officers, coordinated with more than 1,000 union members and militia to support people in dismantling, transporting materials, and building 95 houses in Vinh Chau town and Thanh Tri district during holidays and Tet.
The Military Commands at the district, town and city levels mobilized 375 cadres, 1,710 militia, contributed 12,145 working days, supported the construction and repair of 2,083 houses.
The Provincial Veterans Association coordinated to encourage members to contribute 1,559 working days. The Youth Union of Soc Trang province also promoted the spirit of "When needed, there were young people, where there were difficulties", established and maintained 103 volunteer teams, attracting 1,210 union members to participate in supporting house building, contributing more than 1.2 billion VND. During the Youth Month alone, 2 teams were organized to support the construction of 2 houses with a budget of 120 million VND.
Organizations, families, and benefactors have joined hands to contribute construction materials such as cement, iron, steel, bricks, etc. with a total value of more than 8 billion VND, contributing to improving the quality of housing for beneficiary households.
The Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee coordinates to effectively implement the movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, along with the attention and direction of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and the responsible and effective coordination of the Provincial People's Committee, localities, businesses and people. The spirit of "whoever has something to contribute" has spread widely, turning the program into an emulation movement rich in humanistic meaning throughout the province.
