On February 26, information from the People's Committee of Lam Dong province said that Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Trong Yen signed a directive document, assigning departments, branches and localities to coordinate in solving problems arising in domestic waste treatment activities in the above two areas.

Previously, Friendly Green Environment JSC (the unit operating the waste treatment plant in Bao Loc) and Green Energy Environment Co., Ltd. (the unit operating the waste treatment plant in Da Lat) had documents reflecting difficulties in signing contracts and paying waste treatment costs.
In Da Lat, Green Energy Environment Co., Ltd. said that Da Lat Solid Waste Treatment Plant currently receives an average of about 390 tons of waste/day and night.
From February 10, 2026, the amount of waste increased to more than 500 tons/day and night; peak on February 16 exceeded 1,000 tons/day and night. Currently, the factory receives about 420 tons per day. Although maintaining continuous operation, treating all waste in a day, not letting it accumulate, so far some units have not signed waste treatment contracts and have not paid the costs for January 2026. This causes financial difficulties for businesses in paying electricity bills, workers' salaries, and equipment maintenance.

In Bao Loc, Friendly Green Environment JSC said that although the official contract has not been completed, the unit still maintains the operation of the factory, especially during Tet, to ensure environmental sanitation.
According to Mr. Le Dinh Trong - Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company, operating without acceptance and payment has put great pressure on the finances and wages of employees. "If not resolved in time, from the 27th, 2 enterprises will temporarily suspend factory operations," Mr. Trong said.

Regarding the recommendations of the two businesses, leaders of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Finance and localities to urgently work with businesses to handle problems. The goal is to definitively resolve difficulties in signing domestic waste treatment contracts, ensuring that waste is collected and treated regularly, without allowing environmental pollution and urban unsightliness to occur.

The Provincial People's Committee also requested to handle the responsibility of the locality for the situation of garbage accumulation, slow collection, transportation, and treatment according to regulations, especially in the central area and tourist areas and attractions.
