On August 31, Mr. Tong Van Long - Vice Chairman of Bao Loc Ward 3 People's Committee (Lam Dong) said that prolonged heavy rain caused many landslides in the area.
Among them, a landslide on the taluy bank about 20m high damaged people's production workshops. The incident did not cause any casualties.
Previously, at about 6 am on August 30, at the house of Ms. Ho Thi Giang, No. 360/11 Phan Dinh Phung, a landslide occurred on the positive taluy bank behind the production workshop.
Immediately after the incident occurred, leaders of Bao Loc Ward 3 People's Committee and functional forces inspected the scene, directed to monitor the developments of the taluy area and warned people not to approach locations at risk of further landslides.
Through inspection, the eroded embankment area is about 20m high, 15m wide, and the protruding soil is about 3m. Soil and rocks overflowed, damaging about 30m2 of workshops and affecting 2 cold storages.
Also on August 30, ward leaders inspected a landslide point on Blao Sire street, Residential Group 18.
The landslide has deepened a part of the road slope, affecting the railing area, posing a potential danger to people and vehicles.
The Ward People's Committee has planted signs, hung warning ropes and requested functional forces to continue monitoring and developing plans to handle landslide points in the area.
Local authorities recommend that people be vigilant during the rainy season, not to approach areas with high slopes, steep terrain or dangerous warned locations.
