On December 24, the Krong No District Police (Dak Nong) received information from the Central Highlands General Hospital about the case of patient Mai Van Tuat, residing in Cu Hue Commune, Ea Kar District (Dak Lak) who needed a blood transfusion and group B platelets to promptly undergo surgery for cholecystitis.
However, the patient's family has no one with a compatible blood type and is eligible to donate. Meanwhile, blood supplies at the hospital are scarce.
Immediately afterwards, the Steering Committee of the "Volunteer Red Soldier" Model of the Krong No District Police mobilized two officers and soldiers in the model including: Major Nguyen Van Dung - Deputy Chief of Nam Nung Commune Police and Lieutenant Vi Duc Anh - Officer of Nam Nung Commune Police, who have blood type B.
Both of them immediately stopped work and traveled more than 60km from Nam Nung Commune Police Station to the Central Highlands General Hospital (Dak Lak) to complete the examination and blood donation procedures according to regulations.
Thanks to the timely support and dedication of the medical team, the surgery was successful and the patient's health gradually stabilized.
After donating blood, the two soldiers visited the patient and his family and returned to their daily work.
This action demonstrates a noble gesture of donating blood to save lives, contributing to beautifying the image of the People's Public Security soldier "Forgetting himself for the country, serving the people".
