Currently, Bach Thao Park and Thu Le Park (Ba Dinh, Hanoi) are deteriorating, affecting the experience of the people.
According to Lao Dong on February 18, Thu Le Park (also known as Hanoi Zoo) is a place for entertainment that attracts families every weekend. However, the current status of many items shows signs of deterioration, the landscape lacks aesthetics.Thu Le Park was built in 1975, in Ngoc Khanh ward (Ba Dinh district). The park has been in operation for 50 years. Despite many upgrades, the deterioration of the park has not been completely overcome.Inside the park, some items are rusty, cracked...Many cage systems are very old, so it is difficult to attract many visitors.Meanwhile, at Bach Thao Park, the embankment system around the lake inside the park has been damaged for many years. The bridge to the park's roundabout is also old, causing the Bach Thao Park Management Board to stop using it by blocking the entrance. Some art statues are displayed in the rusty park but have not been replaced.Mr. Tran Van Duc (residing on Hoang Hoa Tham Street) shared that many items in the park have been broken for a long time, such as walking paths, sidewalk paving stones and lighting, but have not been repaired. People are looking forward to the park being renovated soon so that residents and visitors can experience it.Since September 2023, Hanoi has approved an investment policy of nearly VND900 billion to upgrade and renovate the three major parks of the capital, including Bach Thao Park and Thu Le Park. According to the approval, the expected implementation time is the beginning of 2024. However, up to this point, the renovation work has not been carried out.According to the plan, Bach Thao Park will be upgraded overall, with priority given to opening many entrances and exits for people to easily access. Thu Le Park is invested to adjust the planning and zoning in the direction of opening to the people.
Previously, the Hanoi Department of Construction reported on the implementation of the City People's Committee's plan to renovate and upgrade parks and flower gardens for the period 2021 - 2025. In particular, Thu Le and Bach Thao Parks are part of the renovation and upgrading plan that is behind schedule due to changes in management decentralization, from city to district.
Also related to the renovation progress of these two parks, Chairman of Ba Dinh District People's Committee Ta Nam Chien said that the project implementation progress is slow due to the transfer of documents from the Hanoi City Civil Works Construction Investment Project Management Board to Ba Dinh District People's Committee, leading to the need to submit to the City People's Council for approval to adjust the investment policy.
In addition, the renovation of the park must be synchronized with the establishment of a detailed plan for the park at a scale of 1/500, according to the provisions of the detailed plan for the Ba Dinh political center. It is expected that the preparation and approval of the Detailed Planning will be completed in the third quarter of 2025.
