Recently, some people when going to see a doctor at Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital under the form of Health Insurance (HI) have to take photos at each examination, many people expressed their concerns and said that this was unnecessary.
Explaining this issue, Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital said that the hospital is in the digital transformation stage, so taking photos of patients for health insurance examination is to ensure the principle of "right person - right disease - right medicine - right testing and treatment process", contributing to reducing errors in the examination and treatment process.
In recent years, digital transformation has been widely implemented by the Ho Chi Minh City Health Department in many hospitals in the area. Many medical facilities have applied information technology in medical examination and treatment to create favorable conditions for people and improve management efficiency at hospitals.
However, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said that the city's health sector does not encourage this implementation in cases where medical facilities have not yet fully developed procedures and do not have regulations on personal information security. In case hospitals need to use images to support patient identification, it is necessary to aim to strengthen the management of health insurance card users and improve the quality of medical examination and treatment.
The Department of Health recommends that hospitals develop a detailed implementation plan and send a report to the Department (through functional departments) for guidance and assessment on legality, implementation procedures and security capability. This is to ensure the privacy of patients, while complying with current legal regulations. Absolutely do not cause inconvenience or affect the rights of patients when accessing medical examination and treatment services.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health will continue to monitor and require health facilities to implement digital transformation in conjunction with protecting the legitimate rights of the people. The application of information technology in medical examination and treatment needs to be implemented in accordance with regulations, in accordance with reality and without causing additional procedures or inconvenience to people.
