On May 15, a representative of the National Children's Hospital shared that after nearly 2 weeks of treatment at the National Children's Hospital, M.T.A. (4 years old, in Nam Dinh) was involved in a three-wheeled vehicle accident that ran over him, and was discharged home and had stopped taking medication.
Previously, the child was run over by a homemade three-wheeled vehicle causing a closed abdominal injury and was treated at Nam Dinh General Hospital. After checking, testing, and X-raying, on the evening of May 3, the baby was transferred to the National Children's Hospital.
Here, the doctor diagnosed the child with a torn left diaphragm injury causing the stomach and intestinal herniation to the chest, kidney injury of level 3, collapse of the small intestine, and severe prognosis.
Surgery to create diaphragm shaping, cut off the intestinal section and connect the intestines, preserve the kidneys for children. Hospital leaders said that during the treatment process, the National Hospital of Pediatrics did not call for support for the cost of treatment for M.T.A. Because the baby under 6 years old, the health insurance pays most of the treatment costs.
However, benefactors still donated more than 171 million VND through the Hospital's Social Work Department. The whole amount was handed over by the Hospital to the family of M.T.A. for management and use.
