The latest storm news from GMA Integrated News said that the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) predicts that there will be 16 to 19 storms near the East Sea in 2025.
PAGASA spokesperson Analiza Solis said: "We are forecasting 6-13 typhoons in the March to August period. If we count the whole year, there could be about 16 to 19 tropical storms, lower than the average."
Typhoon forecasters point out that the number of typhoons in 2025 is 16-19 typhoons, which could be due to normal climate conditions or normal values of some factors such as rainfall, temperature ( maximum, minimum and moderate) and wind.
"We are considering a normal climate based on the La Nina warning and expect the climate to turn to ENSO neutral," she said.

In addition to the below-average storm this year, weather expert Solis warned that the Philippines could see warmer weather, with higher temperatures in late April or the first week of May.
"We could see a higher temperature index, which could reach 48 or 50 degrees Celsius, and temperatures could get higher in late April or the first week of May. The temperature is forecast to be around 39.6 or 39.8 degrees Celsius," said PAGASA weather expert.
Temperature indexes from 33 degrees Celsius to 41 degrees Celsius are in the "extremely cautious" category, which can cause cramps and exhaustion due to heat, and exercise and work can lead to heatstroke.
