On the afternoon of August 6, in Hanoi, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, organized a press conference to inform about some activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Vietnam National Day.
Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Nguyen Trung Kien said that the Committee is recommending that the higher-level agency that the overseas Vietnamese delegation participate in the 80th anniversary of Vietnam National Day.
This activity meets the wishes of many overseas Vietnamese who want to directly participate in important events and national holidays; demonstrates gratitude, appreciation for the role and contributions of overseas Vietnamese in the resistance war for national independence and building current socio-economic development.
He also said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is currently coordinating with relevant agencies to actively deploy preparations and readiness for the organization of the overseas Vietnamese delegation to ensure the success of the celebration.
Also at the press conference, the Information Committee informed that the training course for teaching Vietnamese for overseas Vietnamese teachers is scheduled to take place from August 13-28 in Hanoi and some neighboring localities. The program has the participation of 80 students from 15 countries and territories.
According to the Committee, the award ceremony of the Overseas Vietnamese Subscriber Search Contest is scheduled to take place on August 21 in Hanoi, in conjunction with the organization of the beloved Vietnamese Gala program.
Taking place from March 29 to August 21, this year's Overseas Vietnamese Quests attracted a large number of overseas Vietnamese to participate. Currently, the final round of the contest is taking place, and the contestants are quickly completing the video to compete in this final round. After that, the contest's judges will select at least the 5 best candidates to be Vietnamese Assigned to Foreign Affairs in 2025.
Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien shared that the Overseas Vietnamese Subjects Search Contest received more than 50 entries with rich and diverse content. Many entries were elaborately invested in and created in the way of expression, from prose, poetry to presentation forms associated with images and illustrative videos, bringing many emotions and impressions to the Jury. Many candidates also linked their articles with community activities, demonstrating their responsibility and aspiration to spread Vietnamese to international friends.
Vietnamese teachers are the extended arms of the country, helping to preserve national identity, while promoting Vietnamese culture, making a practical contribution to the construction of the great national unity bloc and enhancing the position and image of Vietnam in the international arena - Mr. Kien said.
Along with that, the Summary Ceremony of the Day of Honoring the Vietnamese Language in the Overseas Vietnamese Community in 2025 is scheduled to take place on August 14, in Hanoi, in a direct-to- direct combination with online.
Notably, the Loyalty Vietnamese Gala and the Award Ceremony of the Overseas Vietnamese Propaganda Search Contest are scheduled to be held on August 21 with the theme: "The River always flows, connecting all sides".
