From July 5-8, 2025, within the framework of her working visit to Poland, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang has had many contact activities and worked with the Vietnamese community in Poland.
At a meeting on July 5 with the Association of Vietnamese and community organizations in Poland, Mr. Tran Anh Tuan - Chairman of the Association of Vietnamese in Poland - reported on community support activities, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, helping Vietnamese people from Ukraine, overcome a major fire at Marywilska shopping mall. He affirmed that the association is a symbol of solidarity, a bridge in the Vietnam - Poland relationship.
The Vietnamese community in Poland currently has about 30,000 people, of which nearly 3,000 are Polish citizens. People mainly live in Warsaw and major cities, have a stable economic life, comply with local laws, actively preserve ethnic culture, organize many cultural and spiritual activities to meet the spiritual needs of the community.
At the meeting with the associations, many delegates such as Mr. Tran Trong Hung (Vietnam Business Association), Ms. Tong Thu Huong (Vietnam Women's Union), Ms. Nguyen Viet Trieu (Vietnam Women's Union in Europe) ... reported on activities and made 18 recommendations and proposals on economy, culture, education, legality, maintaining the Vietnamese language and enhancing exchanges between overseas Vietnamese and domestic.
Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang expressed her joy at witnessing the development and extensive integration of the Vietnamese community in Poland, highly appreciating the solidarity and contributions of the people. The Deputy Minister said that the Party and State always pay attention to the overseas Vietnamese community, hoping that people will actively participate in shaking the country, especially in the field of science and technology.
Working with Vietnamese enterprises in Poland, the Deputy Minister highly appreciated the efforts to transform the business model, adapting to the post-COVID-19 context. Representatives of enterprises such as Mr. Tao Ngoc Tu - Chairman of Tan Viet Group - emphasized the role of brand building and proposed to strengthen connectivity, inspection, and logistics to bring Vietnamese goods to the Polish market.
On July 7, at the Hoang Sa - Truong Sa Club meeting, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang met with 35 overseas Vietnamese who have visited Truong Sa, informed about the policy of protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands, and highly appreciated the club's activities in spreading the love of the sea and islands in the community and to international friends.
Attending the opening ceremony of the summer camp "Happy with Vietnamese" on the same day, the deputy minister praised the efforts of the community and teachers in preserving Vietnamese, proposing to replicate this model. The Deputy Minister presented Vietnamese language books and Commemorative Medals of gratitude to outstanding teachers.
At the end of the activity in Poland, the deputy minister and the working delegation acknowledged the contributions of Vietnamese pagodas in preserving the spiritual life and cultural values of Vietnamese Buddhism at the headquarters.
Poland is the first destination in the working trip to 3 European countries (Poland, Denmark, Netherlands) of Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang from July 5 to 13, 2025.
